Chapter 42: Chapter 41
Ellie opened her eyes. Her surroundings were fuzzy. That was a very intense dream. She allowed her eyes to adjust to the sunlight and noticed something strange. There were people in her room. Two to be exact. Both had pale faces and gaunt looks. It was like being at a funeral. Ellie wondered who had died. A man with emerald eyes noticed she was awake and lept to her side. His mouth was moving frantically but no sound was coming out. This man looked familiar. Another man was suddenly at her other side. His jet black eyes looked at her face and the concern upon his was obvious. Both of them were talking but no sound came out. The men looked familiar but she didn't know them. Images of blood pooling on the floor kept flashing before her eyes. Yet through all of this she was calm. She felt safe and secure. Her vision began to blur again so she closed her eyes. Who were these people. Come to think of it who was she. She opened her eyes and tried to speak only to realise she couldn't utter a single word. Both of them had stopped moving their mouths. A red light began to glow from the hands of the man with jet black eyes. He gently touched her face and she felt a warming sensation, the sounds of the world rushed in her ears the birds the trees and the two men as well.
"Do you think she can hear us now?" the green eyed man said.
"Yes. Her auditory sense and capacity for speech were probably affected that's why she hadn't answered. Go ahead she can hear us now I'm sure. " the black eyed man smiled warmly at her as he spoke.
The green eyed man sighed with relief and gently held her hand.
"How are you feeling?"
"Ok, I think. " she replied
These men cared about her and they must know her so Ellie decided to ask them...
"Who are you people? Also who am I?"
The look on their faces as she said this hurt her heart. Did She say something wrong?
" What do you remember?" the black eyed man asked.
"I remember waking up and seeing you two." She answered honestly.
"This is worse than I thought. Her memories have been sealed or stolen." the black eyed man was speaking to the green eyed man.
"What should we do?"
They both looked at her again.
"If sealed I could try to unseal them however it will take time but if stolen we would need to find the culprit." the black eyed man said.
"If I could remember that would make me happy. I would like to know what I forgot. Can you help?" Ellie said matter-of-factly.
Asmodious smiled at her.
"Of course, hold still and I will see if they are sealed or missing"
A mild light began to buzz at the tips of his fingers as he placed them at the sides of her head. It felt like his fingers were gently tickling her brain. She could feel them inside her head. Remy watched anxiously.
"Found them..." He said after a period of time.
It felt like a light switch had been turned on. Ellie's memories rushed into her head as if a dam had burst inside her head and flooded her with emotions and images. She remembered what had happened the night before.
