Chapter 38: Chapter 37
As the church came into view a familiar face could be seen at the entrance. On noticing their arrival she dashed forward and embraced Ellie wholeheartedly.
"My dear, you are home. You are safe. I have worried about you since you left but now you are home."
Miranda words brought tears to Ellie's eyes and she held tightly and began to cry. She had really missed home but up until now she hadn't fully realised how empty she had been inside. Miranda led them inside to a warm fire and a cosy environment. It was like nothing had changed. No one would know that a fire had ever broken out here. They chatted for a while, Miranda talking about her family and what she got up to at her sisters house and Ellie talking about her training with Remy. They had been talked right into the wee hours of the morning when Ellie gradually dosed off her head falling onto Remys lap. He blushed.
"I think it's best we all get a rest." Miranda said with a knowing smile.
Remy carried Ellie to her room placed her down, kissed her forehead and turned to leave. Something caught his sleeve. He turned to see Ellie holding on eyes still closed. He sighed and climbed in beside her holding her in his embrace and he drifted off to sleep too.
He woke to find the bed empty and beside him was cold. She had been gone from his side for a while. He rubbed his head , it was beginning to ache. Maybe it was because he had slept too much. The sun was high in the sky he got up and went downstairs. There was a lot of noise coming from the living room. He went inside to find James and Ellie chatting and laughing. He felt angry how dare his brother try to covet her. He strode forward and he sat next to Ellie and glared at James. They both stopped abruptly and burst out laughing instead.
"See I told you he can be possessive..." James said wiping tears from his eyes.
Remy realised that they had been talking about him and he had just proved a point. He blushed.
"What where you talking about?..." Remy asked casually.
"I was just pointing out to Ellie that you two are now dating since I saw you kiss her. I know what your like brother you leave thing a little ambiguous and don't really say what you mean. So I explained it to her and also gave her some pointers about your personality too. hahaha..." James explained.
Ellie smiled at Remy and gently kissed his cheek. It was her first time approaching him. It felt good. Miranda came in.
"It's time to get prepared. We are leaving tomorrow for the castle." She said
Ellie stood and followed Miranda leaving the brothers alone together.
