Chapter 2: Rude Awakening

The man who held Chloe was average looking at best, dark black hair, and sharp black eyes, with his only advantages being his fairly bulky build. And yet, to everyone else in this room, he was the ugliest thing we had ever laid eyes upon.

And he only got uglier when he spoke directly toward the recording phone, saying "Hello people of the world, you're joining me live at the Nine Hells Club. Today, we've been graced by an angel who fell from heaven to perform here. But, as we mortals do, we can't help but sully things this pretty, right?".

The way his sickening grin contorted made even the most naive man understand his plan, let alone degenerates at a club. A group of the braver few tried to storm the stage, only to be taken down in a single punch to the jaw from the 10 lackeys. All but one man that is, who fell back and hit his head on a table, busting it open a bit and bleeding profusely.

Yet, instead of backing down, the man stood back up again, and this time rushed at the 10 men by his lonesome. While this was happening, I was making my move silently around the back of the club, and organizing my thoughts. This was the perfect terrible move to capture the spotlight. Such a terrible act on a normal looking, yet astounding girl on a live stream.

Frankly I can't help but choke on vomit at the thought of this being a genius idea for devils, but sadly that's exactly what it was. I was hoping for my first fight to be a one on one, but apparently lower rank devils move in packs.

I should have figured it wouldn't be that simple. My only solstice to that situation is that these idiots were far too cocky, as well as greedy. The man was dragging this out, describing his disgusting thoughts rather than acting on them, milking his camera time to build power.

Thanks to that, I had enough time to circle all the way around the perimeter of the club, into the backstage, and behind the curtain where Chloe and her captor were. In the meantime however, the hero from the crowd had been beaten senselessly, covered in blood, and probably bruises if you cleaned off the blood to check.

Chloe, who had only screamed at the start, was slowly starting to break down. Let alone the threat this man posed to her, watching someone get brutally beaten trying to save her only made it that much harder to keep her calm.

She then began to frantically struggle, but couldn't even budge the man holding her. However, she managed to get a fair distance away from his body, as he just stood there and outstretched his arms to keep a handle on her. That made my job easy, as I pulled out Ebony & Ivory, and blasted ten rounds from each gun into the mans' back.

The whole room went dead silent at the resounding shots, as I walked on stage into everyone's view. Before I could revel in my badass entrance, I looked at the man who had fallen down from my shots, and at Chloe who ran behind me out of instinct alone.

You know the situation is bad when a girl runs towards the mysterious gunman, rather than away. This only made my scowl more apparent; as I walked over to put more bullets into the mans' head at point blank.

That plan would have to wait till later though, as the ten lackeys climbed onto the stage and attacked, the first throwing a haymaker which caught me off guard, so I could only quickly cross my arms to block. The impact numbed my arms, and sent me sliding a few inches back across the floor. Not letting me have my turn, two more men ran at me from my left and right to follow up with a punch, but this time I was prepared.

I crossed my arms, pushing them into the opposite mans' forearms to knock their punches off course, and from there I just tilted my wrist to aim, and pulled the trigger a few times into their heads, dropping them in an instant. While I was busy with that, a third circled me from behind, and lunged at me, so I backflipped above him and unloaded a dozen bullets into his back on my way down, making sure to pump a few in his head for good luck.

The remaining seven stood stunned, scared to make a move, and that only made an opening for me. I kicked the body of the third victim off the ground, and spun in a 360, roundhouse kicking the body midair and sending it into four guys, who attempted to catch the corpse.

While they were preoccupied with that, I simply took potshots at their head and dropped them quickly. With the action coming to a pause, and both sides calculating their next move, I just now realized the stuff I'd been pulling off.

Backflips, roundhouse kicks, new bloodline or not, I guess I'm pretty insane if you hype me up on enough adrenaline and give me something to hate. I couldn't ponder on this for too long however, as the last three had actually been circling me this entire time.

All of them rushed simultaneously, two on the side and one behind, as if this worked well the last time. Mixing things up, in order to avoid making any habits, I dropped down and swept all of their legs, and put a few bullets in the head of each once they were down.

My body honestly isn't that powerful, peak human performance at best. But peak human was more than enough for these bozos. My mind could use some work though, since I got grabbed by the legs and thrown a good 10 feet into the air, landing off stage crashing through a table.

Seeing was a bit of a problem right now, there were a few too many stars in the way, but the loud screams and exclamations of terror were all I needed to know that things somehow got even worse. Shaking off the dizziness, I look up to the stage only to find all of the bodies dissolving and molding together in a navy blue pile of thick sludge.

Instead of continuing the assault, the sludge flew through the air a little too uniformly, and encased the man who had been filming this entire time, and bore a sly grin on his face. Looking back, it was obvious with earlier confidence that this was being streamed, the dude filming would be in on it. Also, I guess I was wrong about low level demons teaming up, seeing the giant blue figure emerge from the sludge. They were all parts of the same whole, which has now come out to kick my ass.

The chapter length will vary, I'mma be honest I won't pay too much attention to it. But I'll try and keep it above 1,000 words per chapter, even if that isn't a lot
