"Teypau!" I heard the Na'vi's voice. "What did I say about Ikran?" The Thanator turned to face me. It peeled its lip back.
"Teypau!" The voice snapped again. The beast, Teypau, walked over. I trembled, squeezing my eyes shut. Suddenly, the Na'vi was off of me.
"Get up. Slowly. I have a bow as well as a Thanator." They warned. I followed their instructions, standing up slowly, not reaching for my spear. "Now turn around." They hissed. I did so, turning to see a girl about my age. She was well equipped, with a bow and arrow made of precious wood and clothes that let her move easily through forests. Based on the way she carried herself and the Thanator at her side, she was of the Anurai clan.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" She hissed, bow still pointing dangerously at my heart.
"My name is Ronoh. I am of the Tayrangi Clan. I have flown too far and don't know from which way I've come from." I stated quietly, eyeing the Thanator.
"That sounds about right. The Tayrangi Clan are irresponsible and stupid." She smiled bitterly, looking at her Thanator.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Valli of the Anurai Clan. I live out here, but bring my kills and news back to them. And you, Ronoh of Tayrangi, are coming with me." She hissed. "Teypau, come." She nodded to the beast.
"May I get my Ikran?" I asked. I had no other option. I wish I hadn't flown this far Martinerion is hurt and I'm being taken to the Anurai Clan. She looked at me, her head tilted.
"Can he fly?" She asked. "I'm not sure." I replied. "Check." He gestured to him. I ran over to my Ikran, trying to soothe him. I checked his wings. One was torn very badly.
"No, he can't," I said sadly.
"Good. I won't have to set Teypau on him. Bring him and come." Teypau looked up at her. He was probably wondering if he could eat my Ikran. I hissed at him, and Teypau stalked forward a few steps. Valli chuckled.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He grinned mischievously. "Come, Teypau." The beast padded to her side. He was up to her shoulder, and could easily kill both of them. I shuddered. I nudged Martinerion to his feet and he stumbled next to me. Once he got the hang of it and stopped stumbling, I was walking next to Teypau, with my Ikran at the back, and Valli at the front. She must have known I wouldn't run away without my Ikran. I trudged along behind her, watching her. She was a darker shade of blue than me, with even darker markings, and long black hair which was pulled into a braid.
She glanced back at me and frowned. I realized I didn't have my spear. I silently cursed myself and looked over at Teypau. He was watching me. Silent and angry.
"How did you even tame him?" I asked.
"We were friends even before I tamed him. He attacked me, but ended up just running away, play bowing. I chased him and we ran around. It was only a little while ago I truly tamed him and sealed the bond." She explained. I was entranced. She befriended a Thanator? I had only tamed Martinerion, and even then we were best friends. I can't imagine the bond Teypau and Valli have.
"How about your Ikran?" She asked.
"Climbed up the cliffs and fought him. Sealed the bond by first flight. How do you seal the bond with a Thanator?"
"First sprint." I nodded and looked at Teypau. He was 2.5 meters tall and 6 meters long. His tail is thin and armored, perfect for crushing his prey. A streak of purple runs down the left side of his body. He was beautiful, in his own horrifying, terrible way. He had ten sensory quills behind his head and it made me afraid to think about what they were for. Echolocation maybe. Maybe he could see where I was in his head. There was no way I was getting away from him. I sighed, keeping my head down and following obediently.
