Chapter 12: Faceless One
"Maple, since we can't block its attacks, we should just take the poison head-on and use potions if we want to survive this," I tell Maple as we both take out health potions.
The Hydra shot a long stream of poison from its mouth at us.
My [Trainer From Hell] passive activates once again as Maple and I level up our poison resistance.
After the first two potions, we already had [Poison Resistance - Strong]
"Oh! We did it!" Maple says as I look at her new skill, [Poison Immunity]
After I use my next health potion I gain the same skill.
"Now we both have it," I tell maple while she looks at me and begins to blush crazily.
(Why is she blushing so much?) I ask myself while trying to figure out the problem.
I feel the touch of the chilling air in the cave hit my bare chest.
(Wait, my bare chest? No wonder she's blushing) I think to myself as I flex while boosting my ego with more narcissistic comments.
"Did you just take my shirt off for me?" I ask the Hydra, as one of the heads turns away from me with a slight blush.
"Ahh!" Maple screamed.
"Put me down!" Maple says while punching the hydra
"Crap" I shout while rushing over to Maple
The hydra's other two heads move to eat maple while she's immobilized, but I use my telekinesis to hold their mouths open
I suddenly see maple open her mouth and bite down on the Hydra holding her, causing it to release its grip.
Maple then starts moving around the hydra and eating it.
I still want EXP and obviously I won't get much if she does all the work, so I ready my dagger.
Running up to the Hydra I jumped forward and cut its eye.
Maple is still eating the hydra when a shot of poison is fired at her.
"Mm, It gave it some spice and toned down the pepper flavor!" Maple said with a satisfied expression
"Is it really that good?" I ask maple while jumping down to her side
"Yeah, you should try it!" Maple said while stuffing her mouth with bites of the poisoned hydra.
"I guess I'll have a bit," I say. holding my dagger using my telekinesis so I can use both of my hands, I begin to eat bites of the hydra with poison constantly being sprayed on me and the food.
(Did I just call this food?) I think confused about what I'm currently doing
(I don't want to waste any more time with this thing, thanks for the poison immunity though.) I think to myself while using [Lethality] on the Hydra.
Slashes appear all across its body and the health bar is taken to half, not ending it there I use [Triple Dagger Throw], and apply telekinesis on my attack to increase the speed of the daggers along with the penetration force leaving the hydra at 3/8ths of its HP bar.
Maple suddenly becomes extremely motivated and tries to eat the hydra at amazing speeds.
I stop attacking while remembering that Maple would get the skill [Hydra Eater] after eating it.
The body then turns to particles, signaling that we defeated the boss.
Acquired [Hydra Eater]
[Poison Immunity] advances to [Hydra]
[Hydra Eater]: Poison and Paralysis Immunity.
[Hydra]: Skill with sub-skills. Skills that deal poison damage. Access to Poison Magic.
Hydra, Paralyzing Shout, Deadly Breath, Venom Capsule, Acid Rain, Venom Cutter, Poison Lance
(It seems we both got it, this must be because of me eating some too…)
"Wow Maple, this is perfect for you!" I tell Maple
"Hehe, are you proud of me? I have my first real attack skill" Maple says with a smug face, waiting for my approval.
"You did good," I say while patting her head.
"Thank you, now let's check the chest!" Maple tells me
I walk over to the chest that lied in place of the dead Hydra with maple.
"Open it, Maple," I say while nodding my head
Maple opened the chest and her eyes sparkled.
The golden light from the chest flooded out and what we saw was new equipment.
Acquired [Emerald]
Acquired [Ruby x2]
Acquired [Armor of the Black Rose]
Acquired [Replica of the Dark Night]
Acquired [Crescent Moon]
Acquired [Dark Hydra Ring]
"If the equipment is broken it gets stronger and goes back to normal! And it's one of a kind!" Maple said with glittering eyes.
(So cute…well she does love limited edition things.) I think as I begin to feel a slight toothache.
"Maple you should take it, it's female armor anyways." Maple nods her head agreeing with my reasoning.
"Then you can have the gems, shortsword, and the ring, I'd feel bad if you got nothing. You did a lot of the work anyway." She tells me while cupping my hand between hers.
"I'd like to use them but I can't use weapons other than my class ones," I tell Maple while starting to explain about my "secret classes".
"Woah! So cool!" Exclaimed Maple after hearing what I told her.
"I'll take the Dark Hydra Ring, an Emerald, and one Ruby, the rest is yours," I tell Maple while taking the Emerald and one Ruby in my hand.
I didn't need anything else, and if things go according to how I think, then I'm not missing out on anything.
Maple starts blushing as she holds the ring in her hand.
I walk up to Maple and extend out my right hand.
Maple's face became red as she blushed and took my hand and placed the [Dark Hydra Ring] on my ring finger.
She began to stutter so I told her to equip her items because I wanted to see how they looked on her.
(She's so cute) I think to myself
After equipping the clothes Maple looks mesmerizingly beautiful. The outfit the boss dropped was primarily black with red colors as a secondary, and a half dress that only covers her back and sides.
"Al, how do I look?" Maple says while slowly spinning in a circle.
Maple's dress fluttered behind her, her grey eyes and black hair went perfectly with the armor.
The boss drop really did justice to her thighs as well. I must hold myself back though, for my own good.
(But those thighs) I think while making a groaning noise.
*Insert noises of Aldous trying to restrain himself*
(Focus!) I say while trying to change what my mind is diverted on, but my quick thinking causes me to continue thinking about her thighs and fantasizing abou-
"Maple, let's get going, it's pretty late," I tell Maple
"Thank you, Al, goodnight!" Maple says while hugging me.
"Goodnight," I tell Maple while hugging her back.
She then logs off.
(Before I log off though I have some practicing to do.) I think while checking my [Upgrade/Unlock Class] tab.
I after pressing the upgrade option, It tells me that one emerald is required to upgrade my super class, Assassin, to the ultra class, Faceless.
I upgrade my Assassin into a Faceless
[Faceless Skill: Shadow Fan]: Throws 8 daggers in front of you like a fan, poisons any enemies you hit. You will teleport to the last enemy you hit with Shadow fan.
[Faceless Skill: Ethereal Strike]: Does a dagger thrust in front of you that aims towards the heart. This move does % damage, so it stacks with your opponent's hp.
Passives
[Faceless]: Your face is removed but scars stay and your name will be replaced with Faceless One and will not appear on leaderboards.
[Faceless Passive: Improved Bane]: Your bane lasts for a longer duration than a normal assassin.
[Faceless Passive: Chain Lethality]: Makes it so lethality can chain over to nearby players. The move gets stronger the more people it chains to.
[Faceless Passive: Shadow Step]: If you dash and still have MP, you will teleport forward leaving behind only a shadow, like Bane. You can do up to 6 until you have to wait for 10 seconds.
I put on a mask I got from my inventory and rushed over to the outskirts of town.
I can still see the moon up outside and begin my training by scouting for players.
I see a group of fourteen people talking to each other, they appear to be a guild, a small one at that.
