Klaudia's Flashback
-Flashback-
She had been invited to become a student in a prestigious school abroad called Advanced Nurturing High School in order to continue school due to the virus going around.
The graduates of the school have a 100% employment rate or high positions in society.
She was excited and went to tell her uncle she started living with him two days ago about it.
He was still at work, however, because it was within the walking distance she decided to go there herself.
After going to his job she saw a door open with steps leading down, being curious and ignorant to the flags going off, she decided to walk in there.
After tiptoeing down the stairs she was horrified.
Lines of people of every color and gender in rags being auctioned off. Some in cages, some in chains, a few frail ones had been on leashes and dragged around on the floor like a small doll.
She could hear a deal going on and it sounded like her uncle's voice was taking part in it too.
"We took care of your sister and her husband, are you sure we shouldn't kill the daughter too? We can make it look like an accident even." Said the leader of the group
"No, that will bring too much suspicion to me from nearby gangs, I'd prefer to do it at a later date. I still haven't had the chance to enjoy myself yet." The girl's uncle said with a smirk
It turns out her uncle ordered people to kill her parents due to them finding out previously, and hid his tracks.
The leader of the group looked at the girl's uncle in disgust before demanding their pay from their previous assignment.
(This is bad, I have to get out of here) she thought while tiptoeing to the exit.
As soon as she reached the exit she ran out while slamming the door behind her.
The loud noise nearby had caught their attention.
" It looks like someone didn't close the door." The uncle says in disappointment.
"Not our problem, we only came here for our pay. Maybe you should get security guards next time you operate a shady business." The group's leader said in a disrespectful tone.
"Catch them and I'll pay you double your last job." The uncle told them while opening up his laptop to see his security footage.
"What do they look like?" The group began to walk out before asking.
The uncle's previously calm expression turned to anger in a flash.
"Shit!" The uncle said panicked
The group turned around and looked at him in curiosity.
"Its that girl, get her now!" The uncle said, shouting at the top of their lungs.
"Pay us triple our last job, and we have a deal." The group's leader said with a cold tone.
"This isn't what we agreed on!" The uncle shouted while panicked
"From what I know she's getting further from us this very moment, and we never agreed on anything," The leader said while staring at the girl's uncle and chuckling.
"Then make sure you capture her without killing her, I'm going to pay her back for this humiliation!" The uncle yelled
"Then we'll be on our way now," said the group leader while walking out.
-Flashback End-
Hearing about this, my brother and I are angered but don't express it visibly.
The concept of slavery did not matter to me if it's something both people agreed on of their own will, then it's simply what happened due to a fault they made.
A consequence of their actions.
However when you capture people, take them from their families, or do other vile things to someone against their will, that is when you cross my bottom line.
"Well, where are you going to go now?" I ask Klaudia
"I planned on living in this forest seeing as I have no family to rely on at this point," Klaudia tells us.
(This is a perfect chance to make an ally isn't it.) I think to myself.
"Klaudia lets be friends from now on, alright?" I ask her
"Sure, but what are your names? I need something to call you at least." Klaudia says with a bright smile.
(Friends..) thought Klaudia while being glad she was able to meet us.
"My name is Maou Aldous, but call me Aldous," I say while extending my hand out to Klaudia.
"I'm Touma J. Aldous, nice to meet you, call me James," James says while extending his hand to Klaudia
Klaudia's pink eyes lit up and seemed to sparkle as she got excited and took both of our hands.
"Likewise! My name is Klaudia Windhealm, and I'll be in your care from now on!" Said Klaudia while visibly happy.

(Oh, this is the Maple tree guild from BOFUIR) I think to myself, instantly recognizing the guild.
(Then the fourth event must be the guild one shown in the last episode for the anime.) I continue to think.
"Is something the matter?" James ask me.
It appears to me he didn't get a quest.
"What's wrong?" Klaudia questioned me concernedly.
I say nothing to Klaudia, just because I acknowledged her as a potential ally doesn't mean I'm going to reveal my secrets to her.
(You can tell me through thinking, I wouldn't be comfortable sharing my secrets with new people either.) My brother says telepathically.
I explain the situation to him by thinking about it.
(I see, well that explains why you started staring into space for a while.) James told me telepathically.
"Are you guys ignoring me?" Klaudia asks, slightly sad.
"No, we aren't ignoring you," I tell Klaudia while accepting the quest with my mind.
[Quest Accepted!]
