Chapter 2: Dad, I don't want the company. I want to act
"I am indeed back" Ye Roulan said smiling genuinely. "Roulan" someone called from the stairs "Father" she said running up the stairs to meet her father. As soon as she got to him, she hugged him tightly "Dad, I am very happy. I am back. I know I was wrong. But I am sorry I wanted to go out there to study. I did not want to be here. But later my guilt troubled me. I regretted leaving you." As Ye Roulan kept talking, Ye Ziyuan could not bring himself to stop crying. He had missed her that time she left but he knew that she was as stubborn as her late mother Qin Ziyao.
As the father and daughter were happily discussing downstairs, a voice came through interrupting their conversation "Sis!" It was Ye Xiying who was coming down the stairs with Feng xiao. Ye Roulan was not too happy with the fact that her conversation was interrupted. She walked up to them and said "Good day, mother" she hugged Feng Xiao. Even through the hug, Ye Roulan could feel the hatred coming from them. To make the atmosphere less suspicious, Feng Xiao said smiling "Come, let's eat. You must be hungry, I had the maids cook all of your favorites." Roulan raised her eyebrows when she heard it. This woman did not like her enough to know her favorites.
The family chatted about her stay in Los Angles. Over dessert Ye Ziyuan said "Roulan since you are back I will like to make you the company finance director". The atmosphere became tense as they awaited her answer "Dad, I don't want the company I want to act". Ye Roulan said sadly "Okay then but know that the position is waiting for you any time". Her father replied. On that note everyone retired to their rooms.
