Flawless presentation
It's very difficult not to praise his woman in front of everyone and show her off. Sigh...If only he could make their engagement public. This way he wouldn't have to deal with his male employees lusting over her. He has noticed them many times and right now one of those male employees is sitting at the same table as him. He suppressed his anger and jealousy with great difficulty. He cleared his throat and spoke.
" Assistant Gen I believe everyone is now willing to hear your ideas. You may start your presentation," Aiden told her, and Genesis responded with a nod.
She started her presentation and thoroughly explained her points. Everyone was quite shocked at how detailed it was. Although it isn't the first time that her ideas are used, it is the first time that they have witnessed her presentation.
Aiden leaned back in his chair completely relaxed and he had a proud expression on his face. He silently enjoyed their shocked faces. It would be an understatement to say he enjoyed it. He was more than willing to see this more often. He had often wondered how she would act and look like a CEO. Surely, her posture, voice, and explanations were on a CEO level and it isn't something she can change.
Before he knew it, her presentation was done. He could admit that for once he didn't want to leave a meeting room. He had always been impatient towards other people presenting projects and business plans. Probably because there were always so many flaws he found and he always managed to find the exact areas in which his employees got lazy. It annoyed him easily.
But her presentation could be described in one word; flawless.
"Any questions?" She asked. " Many companies have offered endorsements if we do this, only a slight change in sales will increase." Miss Kelly spoke making movements with her the pen in her hand. The rest of the people in the meeting room rolled their eyes. They could tell she had not been listening to what Genesis was saying earlier.
Indeed, she had not paid attention because she was too busy cooking up schemes to make Genesis look bad. Genesis sighed. " I'll explain it more simply for you Miss Kelly." She started, almost calling her out. " Yes, I'm aware that offering an endorsement isn't anything new. What I was saying is that we will only be picking one celebrity who is especially popular. And we will be merging both designs into a unique setting. Right now the designs being sold by our competitors consist of bright colors like orange and yellow." She explained.
"It's summertime and everything is being sold in of bright colors. If we were to design something that will stand out from the rest and make each copy with a unique touch, people would want to buy it. Although it would take more time it would be worth it in the end." She concluded.
"You mentioned using environment-friendly materials right? I do not understand how you plan on doing that." Miss Kelly spoke again. Genesis felt like rolling her eyes. 'Does this woman want me to repeat the presentation?' She thought, annoyed.
She sighed and with the small remote in her hand, she showed a design on the screen. "Although, I'm not an expert in designing this is pretty much how the piece should turn up. We would be using plastic that ends up in the ocean and real pearls. To add on we will be using shells. Each copy will have a unique pattern." Genesis then showed an example of five patterns. "This also means that we won't be using much money and would only need a lot of manpower to acquire all the materials.
"Wow. Assistant Gen, is this your design?" The other main designer asked with admiration. "Em yes," Genesis responded. " It's a beautiful design. To be honest I already think it's perfect." He told her honestly. The rest nodded in agreement.
"Yes, as soon as you showed them I already felt inspired to design other patterns. The shells would look beautiful." Another person added. Miss Kelly clenched her fists. " Everything sounds great, but does this mean you will be working with us?" She asked.
"Yes, I will," Genesis responded. " Excuse me if this sounds wrong, but don't you have responsibilities as our president's assistant?" She asked again with a sly smirk. Genesis shook her head. " You don't have to worry about that, I will be leaving my position as the president's assistant in the next two months. By the time we start working on the project someone else would be in training for the position." Genesis explained calmly.
"Besides I have been monitoring your work from the moment you started as a side task." She added with a friendly tone. This made them realize why she was so easily prepared for the presentation. Turns out she already had accumulated a lot of knowledge about what they had been working on.
Aiden's mood dampened and he gave her a frosty stare to which Genesis uncomfortably shifted. Although he wasn't happy with her not working with him he still wanted to see more of that CEO side of hers.
Miss Kelly wasn't happy knowing that Genesis would be working on the same project as her but she cooled down her anger by thinking of how Genesis will be gone soon.
"Are you quitting?" The other main designer named Chris Willson asked. Genesis nodded. "Yes, something like that." She responded. "How come we didn't know about that? Will you be going to another company?" He asked curiously.
'Why is he asking her so many questions? It's none of his business!' Aiden complained in his thoughts. This is the male employee he was glaring at before. He has been sending Genesis flowers and chocolates for the past five months and it's getting on his nerves. This morning he sent the flowers and chocolates straight into the trash before Genesis could come and see them.
Genesis sighed. " No, it's more like a promotion. I won't be working in this building with you guys but you'll still see me around often." She responded with a wink and turned off the screen where she was presenting. 'CEO to assistant to CEO again...technically I'm not lying.' She thought.
The rest of the people gave her some curious glances as she sat back down. They didn't bother to ask their President about it for obvious reasons. In the end, they decided not to pry and continued discussing Genesis' plan with each other.
" President, what do you think about this idea?" Chris asked. Aiden didn't look at him, with his elbows standing straight on the table he gave off an aloof aura. " I agree, but in the end, you should all see how this will work out." He responded. "You have twenty minutes to discuss with each other. Think about the roles you will take and how it will affect the process you have already made." He gave his orders and got up from his chair.
Genesis tried staying behind to answer their questions and explain a bit further but she was stopped by Aiden's glare. She quickly got up and followed right after him.
Outside the meeting room,
Genesis nervously walked behind him until they reached his office. She turned to close the door behind them and when she turned back around he was facing her. " There will be no training for a new assistant." He told her. Genesis bit her lip. " But-" She was interrupted by him. "No buts," He said and walked to his desk.
Genesis stopped him by pulling the sleeve of his suit. " You need another assistant! Even with my major help, there is still a lot of work left for you." She complained. Aiden stopped and turned to face. " Worried about me?" He asked.
"That's not the point!" She pursed her lips. Aiden sighed. "If you admit you're worried about me I can come up with an alteration." He negotiated. Genesis narrowed her eyes. " What alteration?" She asked.
"You have to admit you're worried about me first." He placed his hands in his pockets arrogantly. Genesis rolled her eyes. " What makes you think I'm worried about you?" She asked, crossing her arms.
" If you aren't then you can just forget about it." He replied and started walking away. "Fine!" Genesis called out and Aiden stopped in his tracks with a smirk. Genesis sighed. " I admit it, I'm worried about you…" She said in a low voice. Aiden turned around.
"Sorry, what was that?" He asked and walked back towards her. Genesis took a deep breath and answered, " I said I'm worried about you, satisfied?" This time she did it in a louder voice.
"Yes. I am." He replied. " If you weren't so stubborn I wouldn't have to work so hard on getting you to admit how you feel." He added.
