Chapter 47: The start of rainy days
It has been raining for two days in a row now. Last night, the raindrop was only a drizzle, with only a mild thunder, but today the rain was fiercer, with rough winds and the sky was shining brightly with thunder.
Its a thunderstorm.
The thunderstorm lasted for a few hours, toppling down a few trees down with it.

"It's still raining?" Seth slurped down his tomato egg drop noodles.
"Yeah, it's has been 2 days now. Let me check the weather forecast for today." Lucy scrolled her phone and clicked on the news today section.
"Oh wow, there is a picture of a desert that was covered by snow! Hmm.. they said this picture was in Sahara desert 1 month ago. I don't know if this is true or not." Lucy spoke incoherently. She was distracted by the pop-up news that she saw.
"It could be... It is not that weird anyway. I remember that the Sahara desert was previously not a desert. I have read somewhere that said Sahara desert used to be an ocean. They said probably due to the shifting of tectonic plates, the ocean disappeared and causes the sea bed to rises, and that creates the desert that we see today." Clicking his tongue, Seth looked up and frowned his forehead, thinking.
"They said the movement of tectonic plates happens over hundreds of millions of years ago. Oh yes, the continents that we have today, as a result of the tectonic plate movements. It's called continental drift." Seth chuckled.
"..."
'I never know dad was interested in geology before?'
Lucy stared at her father in awe. She has forgotten to check on the weather forecast as she listens to her father's story.
"If we are going to see the Sahara desert to turn back into an ocean, probably it will take us another millions of years or so for it to happen. It would be a miracle, if I could live to see the Sahara desert make the changes." Putting his chopstick down to the table, Seth wiped his mouth on the napkin and looked at Lucy.
Patting her daughter's head, Seth asked. "Hey, weren't you are going to check the weather forecast for me?"
Slapping her forehead hard, Lucy exclaimed, "Oh, yeah! I forgot. Hehe..."
Lucy scrolled her phone again and checks the weather forecast. "It will be raining for the whole week. Dad, are you still going back to Hawaii with Uncle Ben? The weather is so unpredictable nowadays. An accident could easily happen during this time around."
She looks up at Seth and scrunched up her face to look as pitiful as ever. "Even if you are still going to Hawaii, why are you leaving us behind? Why can't we all go back to Hawaii?"
"It's dangerous, Lucy. You know that Ben and I are only going to be there for a short while only. You will be safer staying here. I promise. I will be back by next week, and you won't even realize that I was gone." Kissing her daughter on the forehead, Seth smiled and waved his hand at her.
Seth is going out of the bunker today with his brother Ben. Ben has to retrieve something from the tribe leader back in Hilo. The tribe leader said he was an old friend of his late wife, and he has something to give to Ben.
Remembering his late wife Tiffany, Ben just got to retrieve whatever the item is from the tribe leader...
The tribe leader's house was not affected by both the tsunami and earthquake, so Ben and Seth are planning to go back to Hilo and retrieve the items.
They could also figure out if they are going to stay in Hawaii again, or maybe they are going to live somewhere else.
Both Ben and Seth were still in the dark about the 2 months' time they have to be living on earth.
Picking up his jacket, Seth kissed his wife goodbye. "Take care of the kids. If anything, just call for Jason. He's here."
Jane smiled and she nodded at Seth. "Take care."
Ben walked out of the bunker with Ben at 10 am. They only bring along a backpack with them as they were planning to stay around for a day or two in Hawaii, then back again to Alaska.

Back in the bunker, Lucy stays in her parent's studio.
"Mom, what would you do, if you only got 2 months to live on earth?" Lucy was sitting at the dining table when she asked Jane.
Jane looked at her daughter with a puzzled look. "Erm, why, would you ask me that question?"
Lucy shrugged her shoulder. "I am just asking. If you know that the world is going to end soon, but the others are not aware of the news, what would you do?"
Jane tapped her fingers rhythmically on the table. Looking at her daughter with a gentle gaze, she replied. "If I knew the world is ending in 2 months, I would tell the world about it. Probably they all want to accomplish something before they die..."
"So, if I were to tell you that the world is going to end in two months, would you believe me? Or, would you think that I am crazy?" Lucy bowed down her head and played with her fingers.
Startled, Jane blinked her eyes a few times. "Well if you got proofs to support your statement, I might believe in you... Why? Do you... happen to know something?"
Lucy hesitates for a moment before she looks at her mom, "Mom, I... I have over-.."
"BANG!!"
"Mom, mom, mom! Look at the news!" Suzy slams the door shut with a thud. She just came barging into the kitchen from her room.
Lucy looked at Suzy feeling irritated. Lucy stood up and walked towards Suzy.
'I was about to tell something important to mom, before this idiot came barging in!'
Jane quickly moved to the TV and turned it on.
"-The selection will be done within the next week. Eligible personnel will be selected by using the database we have and will be contacted personally by the special team."
"What selection? Suzy, did you hear anything?"
Jane and her daughter did not get to hear the full announcement and they were puzzled.
"They... announced that the world is dying... and, and, they are going to send us to the space for survival..." Suzy blurted out nervously.
