Chapter 33: A conspiracy
"What nonsense, are you talking bout now, Lucy? What disaster?" Suzy got down from her bed, and walked, towards Lucy who is at the study table.
Snatching the laptop from her sister, Suzy walked to the sofa, and sat on it, while she reads on the article. Lucy walked behind her, with a furious expression.
"Look for yourself, Suzy. See how rotten this world has turned into." Lucy was feeling rather smug with herself as she thinks that she had uncovered the wicked truth.
"Have you searched for any prediction on where is the place that a disaster going to strike next? I-I think I saw almost 5 places that are showing a high probability, that the disaster going to happen there next." Suzy's fingers danced excitedly on the keyboard, searching for any related articles on the internet.
"The San Andreas Fault has been experiencing magnitude 7+ earthquake for the past 2 days, and the authorities have asked them to evacuate their houses, even San Francisco, Los Angeles were taking precautions too. Oh, look here, a live data of the seismic movements in San Andreas! Its a swarm of magnitude 8 and higher! Dang, is the Fault going to collapse now?!" Suzy's face showed a surprised look as she read the news.
"So, probably, the San Andreas Fault is going to be the next big disaster? Suzy, don't you think, that all the disaster that has been predicted not to occur for another hundreds of years to come, suddenly decided to choose the almost same timing to occur, are a normal thing to happen? I am suspecting, there is something huge, that is going to happen to the world now." Lucy was feeling rather afraid. It is not a coincidence, that all these are happening at once.
"Yeah, you are not the only person who felt that. Protests, are going on around the world, demanding, the government to speak up the truth, and to stop manipulating them. Some said this is a war, created by the people to create chaos, and disrupt the stability of life, all around the people. I think this comment makes sense to me. Who knows, who is responsible for all this. " Suzy raised her eyebrows when she read the comment.
"Well, it could be the starting of an apocalypse too, you know. If they could detonate the Fault, they would have done it a long time ago, to threaten the US government." Lucy sudden remark left Suzy speechless.
"Again, with the end of the world nonsense? Lucy, I think you watched too many disaster movies. All this is man-made I tell you. Don't underestimate a 10-year-old kid okay. I know stuff too. There are always some bad guys claiming to the disaster, to instill fear." Suzy flips her hair in arrogance.
"Yeah, you? what do you know? Sneaking on other people's phones? haha..." Lucy laughs and she left Suzy to lay on her bed. Volcanic eruption caused by someone too? Yeah, right...
Feeling like she did not want to argue with her sister about who is responsible for the disasters, Lucy changed the topic of their discussion.
"Well, what do you know Miss-know-it-all, its almost 1 am now. Don't you have to go to sleep now? I am tired, I am going to take my bath now. You, don't play games on my computer. If not, I will set my thumbprint as the password."
After speaking to Suzy, Lucy rushed to the bathroom.
"Hah, you think I don't know how to set my thumbprint here secretly?" Sticking out her tongue to Lucy, Suzy quickly sets her thumbprint as the password.
'You, won't even able to use your laptop after this.. hehe...' Suzy let out an evil grin as she stared at the direction of the bathroom.

1 am, Seth and Jane have been lying on the bed for a while without sleeping now.
"Honey, do you think our decision to stay here, is a good decision? I keep feeling that something isn't right, that something is going to happen." Seth sighed for the second time tonight.
"Maybe, you have not been sleeping well lately. Sleep. You will feel better after this." Pulling up the blanket over their body, Jane played with Seth's hand.
Tonight is the first night that both the husband and wife got to sleep together. Feeling the roughness of her husband's hand, Jane felt sad.
They have been through a lot, and when they finally got to rest on the same bed, their mind cannot calm down to fall asleep. During the past week, they have lost their house, their car, even one of their daughter, Mia...
Living inside the shelter was a decision made by all of them on a wimp. Ben told them, that San Francisco is in danger, and so they came here to Alaska for shelter. Why Alaska? They also did not know why they have to go to this far, just to take shelter.
"Yeah, lets sleep." Seth closed his eyes, and hug her wife in one hand.
'Maybe after I wake up, my mind would be clearer and I will know what to do next.'
