Chapter 27: Jason's grand envoy

"F*uck! Change of plan again. Mr.Moore and his family will not be able to make it on time during the opening ceremony, so Commander Jason brought in his friend's family. A total of 5 people, with one 10 years old girl. They said to prepare 3 rooms for that." Ming, Lee's subordinate informs his once again.

"One VIP studio for Mr.Seth and his wife, another one VIP suite for Mr. Benjamin, and they asked us to modify another studio with two single beds for Mr.Seth's kids. Shit, another last-minute modification!" Lee grumbles reading the mail that he received from his Commander.

Without saying anything, Ming saluted Lee, and he left his room in a hurry.

Lee watched on as the door to his office closes. Picking up his phone, he quickly phone the interior designer for the studios and suite, to make changes on the beds. The family will be living close to each other, on the same floor.

'They are sure lucky to stay in a studio and suite reserves for Mr. Moore's family. The family did pay for two studios, and another suite for the butler, and helper. Now that they are not able to use the rooms, and Commander brought in his friend's family in as substitute... that friend sure is damn lucky!'

Rushing out from his office in the Air Force Base, Lee quickly went to an underground office, that has a separate elevator, that leads him to the location of the Underground Bunker.

The underground bunker was bustling with mans coming in and out, with clipboards on their hands.

'Hah, there is still plenty to do, and they got less than 18 hours before the Commander will come for final inspection.'

"Hurry up you guys! 18 hours till Commander Jason to come for the inspection. Move it, move it!" Lee waved his hand impatiently towards the contractors on the outside of the bunker.

"Hello, are you my Uncle Ben's friend, Jason?" Suzy was quickly mesmerized by Jason's powerful and commanding aura. She cannot take her eyes off Jason.

Ignoring the question from Suzy, Jason quickly greeted Seth before hugging Ben tightly.

"Wow, Ben, my old pal! How long has it been aye? The last time I saw you, was when Tiffany came to San Francisco. It was roughly around 6-7 years ago, am I right? Hahaha... It's good to see you again man!" Jason hugged and pats Ben's back repeatedly.

Feeling stunned, hearing Jason mentioning about his late wife, Ben quickly adjusted his mood to match the surrounding.

"Jason! yeah, its been 7 years now. Well, it has been such a long time, you still remember me. Eh, thank you so much for helping us. I appreciate your help so much pal!" Bowing slightly to Jason, Ben was feeling very grateful to his friend's kindness.

Jason has always been like this. During his last visit with his late wife Tiffany, Jason was there to receive them, and he was such a great host back then. They both contacted each other less and less after Tiffany passed away due to a car accident.

Rumors spread around his high school friends that Jason used to have a crush on Tiffany, but, due to their difference in social ranks, Jason forgoes his wish to be with Tiffany.

Jason is a dedicated man to his job in the army, so he cannot marry someone from other high-rank officials from the opposing country. Forget about being a Commander, it will be a breach of intellectual information if they were to get married, and it will become a big crime.

"Aye, don't be so polite with me. What? 7 years we have not met, and you have become distant with me? Come on man... you are my best pal! Of course, I'll help you." Jason has been meaning to talk to Ben again after he heard the news of Tiffany's passing, but he kept delaying them, until a few days ago, Ben took the initiative to call him. It can be said as a blessing from God, that he can help his friend, and repair back his friendship with Ben.

"Oh, right... Hello, who is this cute little girl? Is it your daughter?" Jason moved to look at Suzy on the side who is still looking at Jason with a mesmerized eyes.

"She is Suzy, my youngest. Suzy, be polite, and say thank you to Commander Jason." Seth nudged her daughter to move forward and bow slightly to Jason. They cannot disrespect Jason, he is a powerful official.

"No, no it's fine. She is still a kid anyway." Jason pats Seth's back, smilingly.

"Well, do you have all the luggage ready? If there is nothing else, let us go, we have a long journey ahead."

Jason's sub-ordinate already loaded all their luggage into the Hummers, while Jason was still having his talk with his old friend's family. One of the sub-ordinate bought some refreshment drinks and some dinner for the family of 5.

Jason and Ben share a Hummer, while Seth and his family were separated into two cars. Each car has one army personnel as their chauffeur. At the front and the back of their Hummers, they are two police escort on each end.

"Wow, who are they escorting, what a grand convoy!"

"Yeah, they must be someone powerful, for the army to pick them up from the airport, and have escorts around."

The airport was bustling with peoples talking after they saw Jason with his official Commander dress suit, walks with Ben into the Hummer.

Inside the Hummer, Jason suddenly turned serious. "Ben, have you told your brother's family to where we are headed?"

"Yes, they are aware. Don't worry Jason, I trust them. They are smart." Ben said reassuringly to Jason.

"Great. That's great." Jason smiled at Ben, loosing his serious expressions just now.

"We are going to the San Francisco Airforce base after this, then we will board the plane to Anchorage, Alaska. Just a reminder, strictly no photos once we are inside the base. I understand, teenagers nowadays cannot live without updating their social media. So, I hope you can restrain your nieces from doing so. Oh ya, my comrades will brief them about the regulations anyway." Detecting Ben's face when he mentioned about his niece, looking a bit discomfort, Jason quickly takes out his phone and asks his subordinates to brief the kids regarding the regulations inside the base.

"Yeah, sure. No worries Jason. They will behave." Ben smiled at Jason and he looked outside the window.

"Wow... amazing. I can't believe I can ride the army planes!" This time, it was Lucy's time to be amazed.

Lucy was so excited that she almost jumped and took a video. Luckily, she remembers the driver's warning, that no picture or videos, allowed once they arrived inside the base.

"Oh well, it looks like I have to record it well inside my brain instead. Sweet!"

Lucy has been restraining herself, from making any embarrassing remarks, ever since Jason came with a grand envoy to pick them up from the airport. Finally, she loses her gracefulness when she is inside the Air Force Base. The temptation to jump in excitement is too great!

"Lucy, please behave, young lady..." Jane squinted her eyes at her daughter warningly.

"Hihi, mom.. you know it is my dream to be an army. I just can't help it!" Lucy giggles silly.
