"Miss, we will stop to eat something. There is warm food in a nearby restaurant." Mingyu came to tell her.
Shu Ya sleepily wanted to continue but her stomach loudly protested against it. "I am coming." She yawned and came out while rubbing her eyes.
Mingyu quickly brought her some water to wash her face and rushed away to throw away the water.
"You woke up? You must have been tired." Bai Fu came closer and saw her still sleepily blinking. "Don't sleep too much or you won't be able to sleep tonight."
Shu Ya smiled and shook her head. "I love sleeping. But bit walking would do me good as well. What kind of food do they have here?"
''They have simple noddles but quite tasty. We will stop one more time if you get hungry.'' Bai Fu was surprised when he saw her shaking her head and pointing at something.
''Uncle looks, they have fried dumplings as well, then they have fried meats and some other stuff. We can ask them to pack us some of the food that could be eaten cold as well and we can just use a small break so everyone tanks power. No need to stay too long. Better coming home before darkness.'' She was not unreasonable to make many breaks if everyone rushed to get home as fast as possible. It was fall so she feared that the weather could change.
They sat down to eat and Shu Ya just ate a bit and was full. Actually she ate quite a lot for breakfast so she was not completely hungry.
''Eat more. You are so tiny.'' Her cousins were quite worried about her but she shook her head.
''Thank you for your care, but I can't. I got used to eating just a little so I prefer not to overeat myself. I have no wish to have digestion problems. You all stay here I will just walk a few steps as I won't be able to get out until next stop.'' She pointed at the nearby streams and smiled cutely at them.
Bai Fu saw the two big men and he guard coming closer and just accepted. ''Don't go too far,''
She smiled cutely at him but her eyes were completely empty without that childish emotion that most children had. When she went away he sighed deeply as he pocked into his noddles. ''She really had it hard and now coming to us... How much pain can a small child survive?''
At the same time, Shu Ya just walked slowly towards the stream in deep thoughts. Suddenly a small boy came to her and smiled at her brightly. ''Miss, miss I sell toys, would you like to buy some?'' But then he saw the three big men behind her and came to a sudden stop.
Shu Ya rose her hand and looked ta her guards. ''Let him. I wonder what he has to say. He is just a small kid please calm down.''
The two guards grunted as they had no trust in kids. Sometimes kids are more vicious than grown-ups as people never expect such behaviour from them. But they still stayed behind while looking at the boy with careful eyes.
The boy saw them staying back and came closer. ''Miss, my father is actually carpenter but lost his job doe he has to take care of us children after mother died. He made so many good toys but no one is buying them.''
Shu Ya smiled at a five or six-year-old boy that pointed at one of the stalls. ''Good, let's go there.''
And truly. Amazing sets of animals, humans, birds, butterflies and flowers were made delicately from wood. Even her guards were stunned by the artwork.
Behind stall sat a young man and with fast movements just was finishing up a beautiful horse. Just when he finished his last movements he realized there were people by his stand. ''Oh hello. Is there anything that could interest you?''
Shu Ya looked trough the toys and saw many. Then she suddenly had an idea. ''Mingyu...'' She waved at him to come closer. ''Can you see if one of my cousins is free to come here. Just one please.'' She hated crowds.
Mingyu bowed and suddenly rushed back and saw her family members just finishing up. ''Miss Bai asked if one of her cousins could come and help her out something. Just one of you please. Miss Bai really hate crowds.''
Bai Fu nodded and sent the younger one to her as he saw she curiously stared at the toy stand. ''At least she shows some childishness. Let her. Go help her.''
He happily walked with his long legs and in nu was right beside her. ''Litle sister, tell me, how can I help you.''
She awkwardly smiled at him and beggingly put her hands together. ''Big brother, I have a huge problem. And I realized it when I saw the toys. I have no idea how many kids are there and as I have not bought presents I thought toys from a child to a child are not a bad deal. They can't expect me to buy them gold and silver? Right?''
He sighed. ''Actually, their only worry is that you don't ask them for something. ''But when he realized what slipped out his mouth he almost slapped himself.
Shu Ya just patted his hand. ''I know. Everyone in this world is for himself, right? Don't worry. As long they don't expect much from me, I will be fine. Now help me chose the toys. I am sure that the Bai family has enough children.''
He chuckled. ''Yes, there are many.''
So with his help, she started choosing and realized that if they continue all the toys will be bought so she made a decision. ''Stop. I have another idea. Uncle...'' She turned her eyes toward the young man that looked at her in surprise.''...do you have more of these toys at home or is this all?''
''Miss, these are all as I started making them shortly.'' He waved his hand and pointed at the toys.
Shu Ya nodded. ''Then let's pack them all. Tell me the price.'' Her cousin wanted to protest but she shook her head. ''Brother, these can't turn bad or rotten. Wood toys can last for many many years. Its convenient gift and such handicraft as he made cant be seen everywhere.''
He understood her intention and nodded. '' But you will let me pay...''
She shook her head. ''That makes no sense. It's a gift I give away. If you pay its not my gift it is me leeching of you to give a gift. Please do not make me into such a person.''
He gave up as he saw her eyes becoming cloudy again...
