Chapter 237: King Of Devils
'I'm finally free.'
'L-Lucifero!'
Slowly rising out of the fleshy sphere and silently appearing before Nacht and the other captains. Silence encapsulated the world as the legendary king of devils Lucifero inhaled the mana rich air of the living world.
"Ah~"He sighed sounding content.
Covered in wrinkles and bearing horrible twisted looking skin, his incomplete manifested form was completely different from the other supreme devils.
'This pressure.' Nacht clenched his teeth and balled his fists. 'Even though he hasn't done anything, it feels like I'm about to be crushed!'
"All of you." He suddenly spoke. Not even looking at them.
Raising his finger towards the sky, the planet shuddered. Each bone, each sinew framing its cosmic body reacting to the presence that was Lucifero.
"Bow. Your. Heads."
Dropping his raised finger down. Power gushed from him, so unfathomably vast and deep that no human, elf or otherwise could ever dream of comparing to it.
[Presence of the Demon King]
The air started to vibrate in response to the immensity of his mana.
*BANG!!*
*BANG!!*
*BANG!!*
"Ngghhh!!"
"Arggghhh!!"
With such a simple gesture, an immense force exerted itself upon the world forcing the humans and nearby buildings to the ground. Even the Spade Castle that withstood multiple Supreme Devil battles was crushed.
It was pure, overwhelming power.
"That's... Insane."
Watching what just happened, sweat trickled down the side of Yami's face.
"Yeah, that was insane!"
Contrary to Yami, Grim was buzzing. In the face of such overwhelming power, the fire in his heart started burning.
Strength beyond comprehension, power with no limits. His aura alone broke down reality and distorted the natural order of the world. He did not need to walk upon the earth; intent alone shaped the world around him
This strength... It was everything Grim had ever dreamed of. Everything he wanted to be. And this was only half of his power?
Without even thinking about it, he took a step forward.
Such astronomical magic, there's no way I'm not fighting him!
*BOOOM!!*
Shooting forward at an astonishing speed, the world around him slowed as he tightly gripped the two swords in his hands.
"LUUUCIFEROOOOOO!!!"
Hearing his name being called and seeing the one calling it, Lucifero's face scrunched up in disgust as he said through grit teeth.
"Grim."
Running past all the crushed bodies of his "allies", Lucifero was the only thing that existed in Grim's eyes.
"HM!!"

Suddenly sensing that something was wrong, his leg whipped out and struck the ground at his side.
*BAANG!!*
Barely managing to alter his direction at the last minute, Lucifero's concentrated gravity magic crushed the area he was just at.
'This boy... Did he read the flow of my mana? No. His instincts are just that sharp.'
"Heheheheahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!"
*BOOM!!* *BOOM!!* *BOOOM!!*
Continuing to bounce around the battlefield and dodging Lucifero's concentrated gravity attacks, the grey coloured hue surrounding his body fused with the [Crazy Cutting] spell to cut away at the intangible gravity magic in the area.
'Wow.'
'To think there was actually someone capable of moving around in Lucifero's power.'
Sitting on a floating rock and minding his own business, the devil from the second layer couldn't help but pay more attention to the battle.
'What did Lucifero call him again? Grim?'
[Sudden Throwing Strike]
Suddenly throwing his swords, the two blades spun through the air.
*WHOOSH!!*
*WHOOSH!!*
*WHOOSH!!*
"Pathetic."
*WARP!*
Using his magic to manipulate and warp space, Grim's swords struck empty air as Lucifero suddenly suddenly appeared in front of him.
*Clench*
Without saying a word or given any indication of what he was about to do, he suddenly punched out.
*SWOOSH!!*
Tearing the air apart and even causing it to whistle, not a single shred of magic was contained in this attack. It was all physical power.
*BANG!!*
Creating two more Beast swords and crossing them in front of him, Grim's eyes widened as the blades instantly shattered and Lucifero's fist made its way into his gut.
"GYAAAAAAAH!!!"
Feeling like his insides had been turned into mush, blood shot through the gaps in his teeth as Lucifero's fist hit him in dead centre in the middle of his stomach.
*FWHOOSH!!*
With the impact of that punch, his body bent and shot back like a broken kite.
*BANG!!* *BANG!!* *BANG!!*
Crashing through a row of buildings and demolishing them in his wake, every inch of his body screamed in pain as he lay on top of a small hill of debris like a puppet that had lost its strings.
"GRIMMM!!"
The cry of a woman suddenly sounded out.
"Calm yourself Lady Mereoleona!"
"GET OFF ME!"
Swatting his hand away, Mereoleona snarled at Nozel.
"He's right."
Aware that now was not the time for this, Fuegoleon stepped in to calm his raging sister.
"I don't know what's going between you and that boy, but we have bigger things to deal with."
Looking at the silent Lucifero, he felt a bead of sweat roll down the side of his face.
"Besides." He continued. "There's no way someone who's able to make you react like this would go out so easily."
Taking a moment to think about it, she suddenly nodded. "Yeah, you're right."
[Hellfire Incarnate]
Crashing her fists together, she entered her most powerful state and locked onto the one who had hurt Grim.
"Ohoho." Dorothy laughed as Rill's paint brush flared to life.
"Looks like we're gonna be the ones to save the day."
"Just don't hold me back." Jack laughed as the mana blades that had cut through Dante's regeneration made another appearance on his body.
"Hmmph! Our subordinates are watching, don't embarrass us."
Assuming her Queen of Briars form, Charlotte also stepped forward.
"Oh man this is awesome!"
Fueled by the seriousness of the current situation, Rill's grimoire snapped wide open.
"King of Devils? Captains fighting together? I can feel my creativity rising!"
Thrusting his paint brush into the air, a smile adorned his face.
"Yeah, with this... I'M GONNA PAINT A MASTERPIECE!"
With the pages of his grimoire fluttering non stop, a new spell began to manifest on an empty page.
[Painting Magic: Twilight of Valhalla]
Swiping his brush through the air, an illusionary building big enough for the fire spirit Salamander to coil itself around the roof was created.
"This fight, we'll be taking it over!"

Arada Lol, Grim got bitched.
You guys have no idea how long I've waited to write Lucifero into the story. The amount of progress and back tracking I've made has been headache inducing. From the he was revealed almost two years ago, the way the fights go have changed so much in my head. Even now as I'm writing this it's constantly changing.
I hope you'll all enjoy the outcome.
