Chapter 21: My Jerry.( chptr 21)
When I was driving back to my house my phone started ringing and it was Nick. So I pulled over the car and attended it.
"Yeah what's up Nick?"
"I'm flying down to France today night due to security reasons for the concert".
" Okay, take care".
" I've kept something at your gate , grab it when you reach home".
" I will , are you done with all your packing? "
" Yeah, I'll facetime you tomorrow".
" Sounds great, I'm actually driving right now I'll talk to you later".
" Okay bye".
And we hung up the call . What a coincidence! Why everyone is gifting me something today? But Nick has already given me his speakers , I'm confused.
I reached my house and at the gate he left a small box and wrote on it,
"For you- Nick". And he had drawn some weird creature on the box telling that it was him I agree on that he is weird. It looked more like Jerry the mouse from Tom and Jerry.
I entered in my house and unpacked it . The gift was a book and the second part of which I was reading recently and I was so happy because I had no time to order it. Looks like Nick was turning into a Santa Clause.
"Got the gift?"
"Yes Jerry the mouse the gift is amazing".
"What?"
" The creature you have drawn representing you looks like Jerry from Tom and Jerry".
" Oh really, then are you Tom? "
" What ,,!!! shut up !"
" Hahaha bye bye Tom time to leave".
" Bye Jerry".
I realized this was very funny and weird talk but I liked it you need to have a child in you to cherish the youth in you. Then I played Nick's song , YOU AND I.
And started cooking . He tried all the possible ways to give his presence around me, the speakers, songs, the book and me? Nothing. But it was alright I thought that during face time I'll appreciate it more nicely.
I had my dinner and started working as I had to keep a check on the recent ideas and look after more suggestions.
I didn't realised that I slept on the desk itself while working and it was already 10. I woke to freshen up and thought of Nick . He must be in his hotel right now. So I texted him,
"Shall I facetime you?"
"I was waiting for you ".
And I facetimed him,
" Did you reach safe? "
" I did . You look sleepy, didn't you sleep well?"
" I slept on my working desk so I look like this".
" Oh okay, don't stress out have some coffee".
And I remembered about Nial after this statement .
"Nick, yesterday Nial came to meet me he gave an invitation for the party".
"Did he? Sounds fun we will go together there"
And we continued talking and I remembered that I had to reach office early.
"Nick I've some paperwork to do".
"Okay text me later".
"And I really loved your gift , you're amazing".
" Thank you Tom".
" Ohh.. annoying Jerry". And we laughed and hung up the call. My back was hurting bad but I had to reach the office .I got ready had my breakfast and left for the office. When I was passing by I saw a boutique where there were amazing formal suit trousers. And I thought Nick would look amazing in them with a matching tie.I parked my car and went to the shop and bought a dark blue suit which looked perfect.I could imagine Nick in them. Maybe he can wear it at the wedding or at the party so many events lined up. And I left for my office.
I was just working the whole day as we were trying to reach the phase of excellence and I couldn't stop as everyone was working hard. For that I decided to stay in the office itself to get and create more ideas to present our students.It was 3 a.m. but I couldn't sleep as I wanted a best idea. So I was constantly plotting ideas to present in the next day's meeting.
I woke up in the office and Mr Ning was standing in front of me ,
"Miss we're here you don't have to work so much".
" Mr Ning you all are not my slaves , we together have to work for the betterment of the company".
" Okay boss but now you should go home I will present your ideas on your account".
" Thank you Mr Ning". And I left the office.
When I reached my home without looking at anything or changing my clothes I just went to take a shower and then to my room to take a nap. My neck and back both started paining so I decided to take a painkiller.
