Chapter 9: Tremble

"Are you going to be calm now? If you can't I will have to keep you bound. And if you are able to settle down, I will explain what is the problem." (Healer)

"Okay, I'll try to try." (Rehor)

"I'll trust you." (Healer)

"Can I see Mommy?" (Rehor)

I asked this question of the healer to help me assuage my fears that she was lying. I would have to be a fool, at this point, where I am bound, to belief someone on face value. I had already failed my family, I just had to make sure they were alright.

"I'm sorry, I cannot. I can't let you do that Rehor. Right now, you are a danger to everyone around you." (Healer)

"I'm not a danger to my family. How could you say something like that?" (Rehor)

I know I had just given my word that I would be able to remain calm, yet I could not. Why would she not let me go see my family? It was just a small thing. How could she do something like that to me? I would never hurt my family.

"And this is why you remain bound. See how you cannot control your emotions. The anger that you used to heal your mother, is what is now taking control of you." (Healer)

"You lie. If Mommy was alright, you would let me see her. Let me go!" (Rehor)

"I cannot do that, Rehor. Try to understand, I'm trying to keep your family safe. Here, have a drink of tea. It won't make you feel better, but you need something. You must be thirsty by now." (Healer)

Once she mentioned my thirst, I realized, I was thirsty. I know, I am so so full of wrath, that I am almost frothing at the mouth. But, I must see my family.

Reluctantly, I acquiesced to her offer. I cannot be here, I have to see them, my family. I need to see how Katarina and Daddy are doing. I have to see that Mommy is alive. I did not even taste the beverage that she offered. I just reflexively drank the liquid.

"Oh, you're awake. Good. I'm glad I didn't make the tea too strong. It's always harder to judge when someone has just became Unleashed." (Healer)

"Unleashed?" (Rehor)

I am not sure if I heard wrong, but did she stress the word unleash? What? I am confused at what she means.

"Yes, Unleashed. Do you want me to explain now? Or are you going to get mad again?" (Healer)

"What do you mean? Unleash what?" (Rehor)

"You are an Unleashed. Just the same as I am. You have unleashed from the control of Nature, thereby you are an Unleashed." (Healer)

She paused right there, giving me time to process what she had said. It made no sense. I mean, the words by themselves, but as a whole, I had no idea what she was talking about. I am an Unleashed? I am unleashed from Nature?

"I'm don't understand. How do you know I'm one of those...Unleashed?" (Rehor)

"As I said, I am Unleashed myself. That is one reason I am able to understand that you are one. The other reason, is how you healed your mother. Do you remember seeing some cloudy substance when you went into your parents' room? Orange and brown?" (Healer)

"Maybe? I remember seeing Daddy come into my room. I don't remember much more than that." (Rehor)

"Try to believe that I am telling you the truth." (Healer)

"I can't. Leave me alone. I don't want to see you." (Rehor)

This was too much to take in. I am one of the Unleashed. I am separated from Nature. I healed Mother. Nothing seems comprehensible. I am gobsmacked by this accusation.

"Forgive me for this." (Healer)

From the side of the bed, that she had been seated upon, since I woke up, she stood up and walked away from me. I recognized her face lost all the feelings that she had been carrying. She had lost for now. At least I have some peace for now. I can attempt to comprehend what she had said to me.

When she got to the door way, shed stopped and turned around. It looked like she wanted to say something to me, but she stopped. There was nothing that she could say to me right now that would help. I still wanted her to say something to help me out.

Suddenly, an orange colored fog started, seemingly, to come from her body. It looked vaguely familiar, the color that is. It was the color of dull flame. The type of flame that you have to be on top of, to feel the heat. What type of trickery was this?

"I'm sorry." (Healer)

She whispered that last statement. And the cloud started to advance towards me. That is when I started freaking out. It was not coming towards the way I have seen any other type of fog. It was not hovering near the ceiling, like smoke does, nor was it barely off the ground like a fog machine would produce. No, it came towards me a spiraling pillar. It was unearthly. Never had I seen something like this in reality.

As it came ever closer, I tried to withdraw myself. I could not. I was still bound to the bed. Slowly, the cloud came towards. And then, it curved. A full ninety degree turn down towards my chest. I want this away from me, but still it came.

Fuck this shit! Get it away from me. Did I say that? I am not sure. I am not sure. Fuck!!!!

It finally hit him in my chest, and it burned my skin. It just stayed there, constantly burning me.

"Help me Daddy. It hurts. Get it away from me. I'm sorry…" (Rehor)

"This is the truth now. You will have to accept it, or else, you will have to die." (Healer)

I noticed, as I was losing consciousness, there were streams of tears coming from the healer's eyes. In her deadpan face, there were tears. That was last thing I saw before I was lost in sweet, sweet, darkness.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
ApollyonDais ApollyonDais

Forgive me, if you are offended by the language. When trying to write about Rehor getting inflicted with pain, without using "foul" language, I don't think I could share how he was feeling. I never though it would be as hard as it was to write about one of my characters getting hurt.

Again, forgive me. And thank you all for "enjoying" this story.
