Chapter 49: The Asura Drug

The zombie roared as it was enraged that its pray was able to hurt it. The zombie used its right arm to claw at Jason, its razor-sharp nails tore through the mana barrier and the leather jacket Jason was wearing and fell upon his unprotected chest and left a deep jagged wound on his chest as he was blasted away from the force of the swipe.

Jason landed on the asphalt road like a hay sack unable to contain the force of his landing. Jason rolled a bit before coming to a skidding halt with eyes gazing at the sky as he screamed at the pain overflooding his system. The zombie's claws had pierced right into his skin breaking half of his ribcage and some shards of his broken bones pierced right into his lungs puncturing them making every breath of his filled with unimaginable pain. It was fortunate that the swipe missed his heart by a margin saving him from an untimely death.

He did not get any more time to collect his thoughts as the zombie was upon him again this time taking a swipe at his head. Jason knew it was the end as this time he would die if the Zombie's razor-sharp nails connect with his unprotected head.

He was pushing his time skip ability to the limit as the zombie was slowed down a lot but it still was coming at him.

Jason grit his teeth as he used his shoulder and elbow to strike the road hard causing him to be launched to the left side narrowly missing the zombie's strike as it created a small created to be formed on the road. Jaosn cursed under his breath as he concluded that this zombie had gained unmatchable physical strength though it mutation. He was now lamenting the fact that he could have chosen the same power but he chose the time skip power.

Seeing that the zombie was again coming at him a determined glint flashed through his eyes as he quickly bought two pills from the system store and gulped them down.

One was a healing pill and the other was the asura drug. He was left with no choice but to use it as he would not have any chance of surviving otherwise.

Immediately after consuming the drug, he felt hot inside as the healing pill started healing him from the inside causing his breath to be less laboured. But he was still losing a lot of blood as the deep wounds on his chest were bleeding profusely. He did not have the time for this as another bout of heat overcame his body as he felt the asura drug taking effect.

Suddenly he felt enormous power coursing through his veins as he felt three times stronger now and all the pain he felt before vanished as his body started working overdrive and blocked all the pain signals going to his brain.

Jason bought the same sword again as the previous one was lost when he was sent flying away by the zombies' strike. He jumped to his feet and narrowly dodged another swipe from the zombie as he tightened his hold on the sword and used booth his hands to strike at its torso in a diagonals slash.

The zombie moved its right hand to swipe at the incoming sword but even though it could use its explosive power by hitting the ground to gain immense speed it's relative speed was still not fast enough to fully overcome Jason's time skip ability.

The sword slashed the zombie's torso creating a long wound flowing diagonally across all of its torso. But it still was not deep enough to mortality wound the zombie.

Jason clicked his tongue in annoyance as he took a chance to strike another time at the zombie, but this time the zombie seemed prepared as it again kicked the floor creating a small creator as it rushed at him with immense momentum. Jason did his best to doge but he was still hit lightly by the zombie's claws as a small wound formed on his forearm. Jason would have winced at the pain but due to the effects of the drug he felt no pain and he used this opportunity to strike the back of the zombie.

This strike also created a large wound on the zombie's back but it was not enough.

Jason racked his brain as he saw the zombie come at him again with its surprisingly purple blood gushing out of the wound on its chest.

The zombie's eyes were blood shott now as a deep growling sound was coming from its chest as it went on a rampage as it rushed at him like a bull uncaring of its own self.

"I need more power" Jason muttered under his breath as an idea flashed in his mind. He did not know whether it would work or not but he had to try otherwise this would turn into a war of attrition and the effects of the asura drug were about to wear out soon.

Jason readied his body in a ready position as he again as he gripped the sword by both his hands in a tight grip and raised it above his head and readied to crash right into the incoming zombie who was rushing right at him.

Jaosn actively tried to remove the hold of his time ability on the sword he was holding and soon he felt the sword feel rigid and sluggish to control as his body was in super speed mode bu the sword was in normal time speed.

Seeing that the starting phase of his plan seemed to be working Jason clenched his teeth as veins popped on his forehead as he used all his power to slash the sword down. But the sword started moving downwards in a slow-motion as even tough it held immense force it was still slow in comparison to his speed.

A savage grin formed on his face as Jaosn saw his plan working he immediately stopped applying force on the sword and let it move slowly downwards due to his previous strike force.

He then again readied himself as he again used all of his force to push the sword downwards. The sword was now moving twice it's previous speed and the zombie was just upon him. Jason could feel his body protesting against him as he readied himself for another pulse of force.

When he pushed the final pulse of force through the sword it had become three times as fast and held three times as force within it. It was akin to three Jason combining their force into a single strike.

The third force pulse was completed just in time as the zombie reached him with its mouth wide open hoping to bite straight on his neck. The sword made contact with the zombie's head right in the middle and it slashed through it as if it was butter instead of a super-strong mutated zombie as it was cut into two clean halves which went right past him due to its previous momentum.

Jason did not get to enjoy his victory over the zombie as the asura drug wore off and all the pain inside his body rushed right at his brain overloading it, his eyes rolled back into his head as a loud scream escaped his mouth and his knees buckled and he fell down like a haystack.
