after waking up shanks thought about all the information and instantly thought
The boy has tapped into his Haki at an early age, and he just ate five powerful Devil Fruits. What's more, if this boy were to set sail and become a pirate, he'd have a great jump-start ahead of him.
(Later that day)
Makino and Mayor Woop Slap ran into Shanks and his crew and told him that Luffy had gone to face off against the Mountain Bandits from earlier.
Shanks sighed frustratingly. "Stupid brat." he muttered.
After confronting and interrogating all of Higuma's henchmen, one of them revealed that their leader had taken Luffy out to sea; something about teaching him some respect he won't forget in the afterlife.
Shanks eyes widened in horror. He knew what was going to happen if he didn't get there in time. So he told the crew to stay behind and told them he was going to take care of this personally.
Once he made it to the docks, he used Haki to focus his vision to see what direction they went in.
Detaching his captain's coat, straw hat, and sword, he jumped into the water and swam as fast as he could.
He arrived just in time to see Higuma being devoured by a red-eyed, brown scaled, green-finned Sea King in one bite in its large, powerful jaws.
But where was Luffy?
Over on his left, he saw some splashing, signifying that it was Luffy trying to stay afloat as possible, despite the fact that he's become a hammer.
Then over on his right he noticed the Sea King swimming over to his next meal. There was no way that he was going to let Luffy become fish food.
He immediately swam over just in time to keep the boy afloat, and the serpent getting closer and about to attack.
Luffy saw it resurface out of the water and his role model about to take the blow for his stupidity. He wanted to close his eyes, but he could only stare at the approaching Sea King. He desperately pleaded to somehow find the strength he needed before.
'No…'
'No….'
'No…!'
Luffy couldn't hold his frustration with his mistake and scrunched his eyes in focus. And then… something amazing happened; that same power he showed at the bar accidentally came back… and at full force.
"LEAVE US ALONE!" he screamed to the top of his tiny little lungs.
Luffy's voice echoed in a powerful shockwave that resounded in a 5 mile diameter.
When he opened his eyes, he saw two things; an astounded Shanks and a stunned, frightened Sea King. Shanks was astounded for a reason. After Luffy's outburst, he fully examined his Haki. 'He has… the Haoshoku Haki (The King's Disposition)….' he thought.
After a tense silence, he noticed that Luffy had passed out. Probably from having such an eventful day and tapping into a powerful and rare technique. He smiled lightly down at the boy. Now he would definitely owe him for saving both their lives. He turned to the still frightened Sea King and used a bit of his own Haki to send the creature away. He swam back to shore while carrying Luffy
You're really leaving today huh Shanks?" Luffy said as he walked onto the docks.
"Yeah gotta get back to the grandline, and have more adventures. DAHAHAHAHA! Are you going to ask to come again?" shanks asked because ever since the incident he wanted to come with them.
"No. not this time I've decided I'm going to set sail on my own one day." Luffy said confidently.
"DHAHAHA! Is that so? How are you going to do that ." Shanks commented before laughing again.
"Shut up! I just won't fall off the ship. Luffy grumbled before lighting up again. "Besides I've decided that I'm going to," by this time everyone was looking. "BE THE PIRATE KING!" and everyone's jaw dropped.
"I see. Then take this hat and don't damage it. Bring it back to me when you become a great pirate." Shanks said handing the straw hat to Luffy.
Luffy couldn't stop the tears from flowing, he cried until they were a speck on the horizon. 'I promise Shanks that i'll get stronger and become the pirate king.'
"That kid is gonna be big someday you know." Ben said to the red haired captain
"I know." was the simple reply he got back while Shanks was staring in the direction of Foosha Village. 'I'm so going to tell Rayleigh about that kid.' he thought.
In the bar were only two people, one woman, and one man. The woman with short black hair and black eyes. She was wearing a pink spider shirt and white jacket on the top. On the bottom some black and yellow pants as well as a white skirt. Her name was Shakky, the owner of the bar.
The man with long white hair and interesting beard. He was wearing a white long coat with a simple yellow shirt and green spotted pants. His name is Silvers Rayleigh, also known as Dark King Rayleigh first mate to the pirate king.
"Guess what Rayleigh I saw Red-hairs ship on the horizon a while ago," Shakky said smoothly.
"Oh is that so, he probably just wants to tell me about his trip to the East blue, or some great booze he found on an island," Rayleigh said with a smile.
"Hehe, that's probably so," she replied.
"Rayleigh!" Shanks yelled busting through the door of he bar. "I've got to tell you a story!"
Rayleigh was very surprised, he was ready to listen he didn't expect one of his old cabin boys to come back to the grand line his favorite possession gone. When he asked him about it he expected the room to darken but no it was instantly lightened up at the mention of it. Shanks then went into detail about a boy with Conqueror's Haki at the age of six, and a dream to remember.
'Maybe I need a vacation. I want to see for myself this Luffy kid,' Rayleigh thought. And Shakky sensed this as they watched Shanks sail away.
"I didn't expect him to give that boy this much liking . That Luffy must be some kid." Shakky said and got a simple "Yeah" from Rayleigh. "You're gonna go to the East blue aren't you?" Rayleigh contemplated for a moment and said "Yeah, Shanks said even he felt the blast of Haki I want to see the power too. And who knows? If I like him maybe I'll train him, and help him accomplish his dream." at the last comment Shakky's eyes went wide and then put a fond smile on her face. "Very well, I will see you when you get back."
As soon as Rayleigh got to the calm belt his boat was destroyed by seakings. So he had to swim to the nearest Island. 'What was that island called again? Oh yeah Dawn Island.' so he asked around and out of everyone only one person knew what it was. She said that it was a couple of islands north from where he was. He thanked her and headed toward the island.
