Chapter 16: Prologue
The world of Satus would for ever be changed. The war of the five countries had no doubt made sure of that. The arrogance of man had once again destroyed its beauty it built by waging war over something so pointless as pride. years ago the Satus kingdoms were united under the banner of the Serenity legion, led by King Norris, a wise and kind man who treated his people as equals, earning not only their allegiance, but also their respect. However his three sons and two daughters were less of him. Demanding respect and what ever they wanted as they were the prince and princesses of the kingdom. When King Norris was to pass he asked his children to rule fairly and together. This failed soon after inauguration. King Jordan wanted to build a mighty army and force his foes into submission. This came at the cost of the villagers and inhabitants of farming communities, as they gave ninety percent of their stock and goods to the kingdom with no reimbursement. King Dogger, was by far the cruelest of the five, Demanding high taxes and less pay to workers for longer hours. And any who complained were executed immediately. Queen Kelly was a very harsh ruler as well. she wanted a grand kingdom full of wealthy people, money bred power and standing. However this was a bad choice as well seeing as no person in her country could fight or anything. The oldest King Relic tried to follow in his father's image. But like his siblings he failed, focusing on expanding and inventing new "technology", he eventually lost sight of where the kingdom stood with wealth and people. And lastly Lady Soli, the youngest and probably the most ignorant of her siblings. she hired many enforcers to do all the work while she sat there on her throne. together the siblings drove the kingdom to ruins, leading to arguments and fighting amongst the five. having enough of each other they separated to different areas of the Kingdom to rebuild in their own way. But soon the kingdoms expanded to the point no more land was available without infringing on another's land.
this lead to conflict. The first kingdom to fall was Lady Soli's, having others run her kingdom for her had caused a lack in man power, as they had focused on building her castle and the villages to bring in stock. Next came King Dogger, his kingdom fell due to poverty and people joining his enemies due to the cruel kingdom. And without those to join his armies to repopulate them, They fell on the field of battle. Queen Kelly lasted pretty long, as she hired pirates and mercenaries to take down her siblings. What she failed to realize is that money runs out. After a year She could not Afford the mercenaries, so they left and her Kingdom fell. Last was Jordan and Relic. Both had built armies meant to stand against forces of great magnitude. However Relic had focused on war Technology, and faced the fall to Jordan. Jordan basked in victory as he had won. All his siblings had fallen to him, and forced his two sisters into service as his concubines. He felt as if this was a sign that his kingdom was supposed to rule. This ended a month later as a coup was thrown and Jordan hung from his own castle as a sign of his failure as a kingdom. Dogger and Kelly disappeared while Relic and Soli tried to fix the kingdom. Sadly it failed as the kingdom was in shambles. Crime and disease hit the land and forced people into solidarity. This was the world their son and daughter inherited. Prince Rome and Princess Shi. Rome fought to be like his Grandfather, leaving his home to work with the people and earn their trust. Shi like her cousin tried to gain the publics approval, by hosting festivals and balls for the people to enjoy. Both of these helping. And together might have built a country like their Grandfather's. This however was not meant to be. Shi hated Rome. He was strong and well liked amongst the people, where she was only liked by lords, ladies, and nobles. This lead to her launching an assault on her cousin. And from this he was badly wounded and disappeared. Shi basked in victory, till her noble friends imprisoned her for the attack. and later she was hanged in nothing but her long Johns she wore beneath her dress as a final punishment and shame. Meanwhile Rome, who was surprisingly still alive, was rescued by dwarves and was taught many things on running and protecting a Kingdom. this was passed on to his son Damian, who in one last attempt tried to revive the Satus kingdom of serenity. However, by then the people had grown to used to living without a king and warned Damian of this. And thus Damian decided to just reside to a small town where he became mayor and lead it to prosperity. This is where we meet Rock. Rock is the son of Damian and the last of the Royal line as far as he knew. This is his tale, about how he brought together a society under one banner to take on the armies of evil that come to threaten it.
