Biting her lips to conceal the pain she slowly stood up, taking up her beautiful but wet black PRADA bag.
When the driver of the vehicle came out looking at her, without a bit of any courtesy or thought of the impact from the lash she got on her foot, and the discomfort she was experiencing. He snarled out so loudly, "Are you blind? Or do you have a death wish?"
Turning to look at him angry at the speed he was driving, and now his rude behaviour. To her amazement, it was the same gentleman at the mall, and he was staring right at her face.
Seeing the way he open his eyes after he had shouted at her. Sarahiah could not imagine at that moment what he was thinking, but she took courage ignores the stinging and painful burning on her foot and slowly continued to walk toward the variety store.
With the rain pouring down so heavily she could not see how deep the wound was, also, he was not aware that the tears were mingling with the rain.
Thanking God for that, she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction, taking some deep breaths being drenched to the bone, she took courage biting her lip as she climbed the steps to the variety store and walked inside.
The pain was unbearable, but she wouldn't give him the pleasure of her needing his help, knowing his eyes were on her as she ascend the stairs.
Finding the lane with clothes, with the clerk's help she grabbed a dress, a towel, and undergarments then she was led to a changing room.
Hurriedly she discarded all the wet clothes and dried herself before changing into the clothes she had selected.
Getting the clerk who came to her assistant to bring her two plasters before she started to write out her bill. Sarahiah said in a whisper knowing the clerk was right outside the changing room. "Will you add an umbrella to the bill please?"
Hearing all the items cost three hundred dollars, she gave the clerk the cash to go and pay. When another person soon asked someone, "Will she be in there much longer?"
Sarahiah replied, "Just a few minutes more."
Then when the person went to change in another changing booth Sarahiah exited the changing room, Sarahiah collected her bill and left with her wet shoulder purse and the bag with her wet clothes.
"Excuse me"
The clerk look at the gentleman, who was also soaked but he was looking angry. "Can I help you get some clothes to change sir?"
Turning in a rage, he said, "I don't want any change of clothes, I just wanted you to give the young lady that got wet this money for me please?"
"I am sorry sir, but I cannot do that."
"Then kindly check and see if she had fainted or something, I can't believe the length of time women have to take to change into a few pieces of clothes?"
"Sir, you don't understand, the young lady that was soaked left almost ten minutes ago?"
"Was she badly hurt?" Caleb asked knowing he was wrong but why was he angry with her?
