Chapter 104: Painful But It's Okay Part 1

"What happened after that?" Calder asked Syria as he gently pushed away her silent tears with his thumbs. "It was along night... Izzie and I didn't sleep. We just leaned against each other and cried." Syria said as she took a sharp breath in. Her voice shaked with every word she uttered and Calder couldn't help but hold her close. 

"By the time day break came around, my father came out of our house and ordered his coachmen to fetch my mother.... She looked awful! She was so bruised and battered. Her clothes were torn off and her hair was wild. I never seen her like that." Syria cried. Calder's body shook. He had the hardest time trying to come up with something to say for comfort but all he could do was move his right hand behind Syria's head and stroke her gently.
