"Y-y-yes." Landis said with a heavy stutter. "I think something is wrong with Rutley." Taki said as he nodded towards Rutley. "Not my concern. Now, can you tell me about your family?" Landis asked. Taki thought for a while and then stayed silent. He didn't know how to respond. Taki had a large family but sexy, naked guy was a mystery.
Landis started to sweat. He pulled out a handkerchief and started to dab his face. "What about Rutley? Can you tell me about him?" Landis asked. "He's a sharply dressed man with bright green eyes." Taki said proudly. "So I think Calder may have lost his memory." Landis said as he turned to Rutley. "Sorry but is my name Calder?" Taki asked as he pointed at himself, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Rutley paled further and his eyes rolled back. He then fell down to the floor with foam escaping from his mouth. Landis walked over to the sofa and made himself comfortable. "Let's have a nice talk." Landis said as he patted to the spot next to him. Taki walked over to the sofa and sat down obediently. "Your name is Calder Monroe Llyr Kaimana and you are the second prince of Mariella. You only have one other sibling and his name is Esai Asher Blake Kaiman." Landis started off.
....
Taki's mind was blown. He was given to much information and thought he had actually gone insane. Rutley had recovered and brought some tea and light sandwiches for them to eat.
"So, I'm the second prince. My older brother is the crown prince and he's being coronated today. Both my parents are dead and we just won a war against the northern Kingdom of Eirwen. We won because I snuck into the enemy camp in the middle of the night and set fire to their armory. My brother then charged into their base and wiped them out. We cheered but their was a mole in our troops and he tried to kill my brother as we celebrated. I saw him draw the arrow and protected my brother by shielding him with my body but the arrow pierced my heart." Taki reiterated.
"The best doctors were able to save you because they sutured your heart as they removed the arrow." Landis said as he sipped his tea. "Was it you who saved me then?" Taki asked. "Smart boy. I had a great team to help me too." Landis said as he patted Taki's head. "Landis please treat him appropriately." Rutley groaned. Landis ignored Rutley and did what he wanted. "So what now?" Taki asked.
"Well now you should get ready for your brother's coronation. I hear he's going to make you a Duke for your bravery. Then that way you don't have to be sent over to some random Kingdom as some sort of man wh*re." Landis said as he smiled brightly to Taki. "Avoiding marriage... Well that's okay but I think my brother will have to find me a bride. I'm not that good with picking out women." Taki said as he grabbed a sandwich.
"See Rutley, you were worried over nothing! Calder will regain his memory with time." Landis said proudly. "Whatever Sir Buffer." Rutley said with a deadpan face. "Just in case how about you tell me about my childhood. I'm guessing since you call me Calder we are pretty close?" Taki asked. "Sharp as a knife!" Landis shouted and instantly jumped into story mode.
Taki couldn't help but be weirded out. Everything Landis was telling him from Calder's childhood was something he already knew. Every story he was told he was able to picture in his mind and recall all the small details. It wasn't normal, it gave Taki the chills. "Calder it looks like your memory is coming back faster then I thought." Landis said as he stroked his bushy beard.
"But he's still acting out of character." Rutley said as he looked in Taki's direction. "Well let's just say he had an epiphany and decided to change his cold, ruthless and blood lusting ways." Landis said as beamed. "No one is going to believe that." Rutley stated bluntly. "Does it matter? I mean look at my face. No one will doubt that I'm not cold, ruthless or a down right war monger." Taki said as he pointed to his own face.
"True." Both men said in unison. Taki cried, he hoped that they would at least protest a little. "So Rutley there is nothing to worry about. Just stick to Calder like you always do and remind him of anyone he has forgotten." Landis said as he stood up. He then stretched out his back and a loud crack was heard. "Watch yourself Landis. You're elderly, you might hurt yourself if you're not careful." Taki said as he placed his hand on Landis's lower back.
"But what about the way he addresses you. I can teach him everyone else's pet names but yours has disappeared." Rutley said as he glared at Landis. "Oh just say that it's his way in showing me gratitude for saving his life." Landis said then petted Taki's head. Taki smile sweetly and it caused Rutley's jaw to drop to the floor as his eyes bulged out of his sockets. "Then what do I say about that?! Calder never smiled like that before!" Rutley shouted.
"Sure he has! When he's alone with Esai, he smiles a lot." Landis said with a small nod. "In private?!" Rutley squeaked. Taki tilted his head and looked at Rutley quizzically. "Epiphany my boy Rutley. Epiphany, Calder wants to live life to the fullest now. Let the boy smile openly and be happy for once." Landis lectured. "He's dead. His highness will die at the hands of his enemies and I will be killed along side him." Rutley said pitifully as he slouched forward.
"Just fill him in. Try to jog his memory with names and positions. See if he remembers then get him ready for the coronation. He may have dressed himself but he still hasn't bathed or put on the right outfit." Landis said as he pointed his thumb towards a happy Taki. "Right." Rutley said as he straightened himself out. "So Calder, I'm going to report to Esai and then I will see you later. If you need me just come find me." Landis said as he quickly petted Taki's head again before taking his leave.
