Chapter 90: Validation (3)

"I wonder why Boss has summoned you all alone." 

That was all it took for Lillian to snap out of her rationality. She fisted her hands only to hit the first thing on which her eyes landed. To her misfortune, it was the wall next to the door. 

"Ugh!" She let out a groan as soon as her knuckles brushed against the painted, hard surface. She pulled her hand back and shook it off, trying to ease the pain.

It was fine by her if the man would have kept his tongue himself, and continued to badmouth her. But, no! He had to drag Blake into it. Though she was only eighteen now, she was no longer a child. She could understand the underlying meaning behind his oh-so-decent words. 

"Since you want a fight that bad, a fight is what you are going to get." She stormed back into the room. If he was so eager to throw a gauntlet her way, then she wouldn't hesitate to pick it up either. At least, now she wouldn't.
