Chapter 77: The Spark

"What do you mean by that?" Blake gave her a puzzled look. 

Blake had indeed felt that she was acting out a little different at the dining table earlier, but an apology was the last thing which he was expecting from her. He was indeed slightly annoyed by her behavior then, but it wasn't solely because of how she was acting. He had his own plate full, and the lack of sleep was only adding more to his heavy headedness. 

"I am sorry." Lillian repeated with a sorrowful look on her place. It had taken her a while to get her thoughts sorted out, only to realize later that she may have overstepped a couple of boundaries. 

Blake treated her nice, but that didn't mean that she had found herself a family. He was being good to her only because she was stuck in a bad situation. Moreover, he was her boss, or at least he was going to be soon.
