06: Job interview
"Now that all the small matters have been taken care of. It's now time for me to find a job, considering my financial situation, my connections as well as my work history. I think I should go for an accounting job. Even though I don't have much of a prior experience within the field but with the help of Abby and the net, I should be able to learn it and do the work of hundreds of thousands of accountants in a matter of seconds. So I don't think it would be much of a problem for me but having some basic knowledge about it would be required so that I can convince the employer"
Considering till here he went to his old secondhand laptop to search for accounting knowledge, even though he was tight on his financial situation. He had bought a secondhand laptop with all his savings from the past five years.
This was so that he could learn some relevant information form online when necessary, as spending money in the Internet cafe was not feasible.
After going on the net he started to search for basic accounting software and accounting knowledge, which were newly launched this year.
For the next one week, his life followed a regular schedule from before. He would go for his college to attend the lectures in the morning, as he was an orphan and a poor student he didn't have any close friends in the college, ao not much of a interaction was there between him and his classmates.
It was only with the professor's that he had some interaction because he used to go to them after classes, to find explanations for any doubts he had.
In the remaining amount of time, he didn't do much of an exercise for his body or make a nutrient solution as his injury at the back of his head had still not completely recovered.
In the meantime, he was studying accounting knowledge so that he could find a job more easily, in this one week with the help of Abby, he had memorized and learned every possible foundation methods of accounting and all the basic knowledge for his job.
After one week of thorough revision, he went on an app with higher reviews for job placement, he found himself a placement for accountants, it didn't take much of a time to find a job interview.
While he was learning he had already prepared a CV for himself. So as soon as his interview was scheduled he had already sent his CV with his age and work history, which was basically none but he had sent some of his scholarship certificates.
On the same day, he got an email telling him the place and the timing for the interview. It was two days later and it was in the Eastern section of Ghazi City.
Two days went by in a blur, a day before his job interview he already had planned to ask for leave from his professor, telling her about his circumstances and to start a job in the accounting to for it.
His Professor knowing about his financial background didn't argue with him about spending his time working rather than studying as it wasn't necessary, as he was a straight-A student.
He was given the leave without any questions the next day early in the morning around nine o clock he set out for his job interview. Taking a local bus he reached his destination at 9:35 am with a lot of time to spare, even though he was prepared for it the crowd in the bus was out of his imagination but this was normal considering, with the abundance of food in the nation the people at least did not have to worry about how to feed the children so growth in population was not uncommon.
The firm in which his interview was set was JJ accountings. It was a firm for people who needed an accounting specialists. They had many accountants in their firm, their job was to manage the accounts of their clients from different companies so they had a high security and privacy policy. His interview was at ten o'clock so after reaching the premises he went to the lobby for giving his attendance, there he was given the interview form. He filled in all his applications and attached the CV before returning it back to the receptionist at the lobby.
He was told to take a seat and come when his name was called. While sitting down in the lobby, he could see that other than him at least 10 to 15 other applicants were there and all of them were above 20 years of age at least, but he wasn't nervous at all if the interviewer knew anything about accounting he would get the job hands down.
It didn't take long for his name to be called. he was sent to an adjacent cabin just beside the lobby.
After knocking he entered, is there a middle-aged woman interviewer was sitting,
"You must be Ved?" she asked.
"Yes, ma'am, and you are?" I asked
"Oh I am Cindy, please take a seat." she offered.
" Nice meeting you, ma'am." without any formalities I sat down.
" Nice meeting you too, so tell me Ved, Why do you require this job?" she asked the question without any small talk. 'Practical woman, good' was my evaluation of her.
"Ma'am to be honest with you, I'm actually a 13-year-old boy, going to a science stream college, as you know, there are basic necessities required to be fulfilled and various books required to be bought for the studies. So I need the money for it, right now I am fulfilling all my necessities with the scholarship money, but it's just not enough. I have been studying accounting on my own for the last two months and I think I can do a pretty good job in it." I gave her a straight answer so that this interview would end faster.
