Chapter 8: Face To Face

Amy's P.O.V.

"Can you all please excuse me? I would like to talk with Mr Mayor?" A deep magnetic voice said the voice filled with indifference and cold that it sent a shiver through the body

They started walking towards us, they can't see me as James and Bella are in front of me, hiding me intentionally from them, these small things filled my heart with warmth, and it made me even more confident that I have to make sure they live peacefully and no harm should come.

'I know one day I have to face him because any story which was left halfway has to have come to an end, either a happy or sad ending, so no matter what, our story which was unfinished without any solution also has to end.

I think it will be ending this time; if not, I have to make sure it ends because not only do I want to protect the loved ones, I also wish to let my past go to live my life peacefully.'

I was very much deep in my world without a sense of danger which is on the way towards me.

When uncle Ivan greeted him enthusiastically and with passion, I was shock-awakened from dreaming,

"Hello Mr Patel, nice to finally meet you; I never expected that you are coming here and also without any news; I am surprised, as the Mayor of Meadon, I welcome your behalf of our citizens."

"Hello Sir Ivan, it's nice to meet you; I know It's sudden, but I always wanted to come, and this time I got a reason so without any delay I came; I am sorry if this caused you any problem," He said with respect and also explained why he is here.

"Of course, no problem, it is just if we know this before we would have given you a grand welcome also wanted to hold a small banquet to show gratitude that you choose our town for your business, so I am just regretful," Uncle Ivan said warmly I know that uncle thinks that he is a very respectful person, but I know how he is,

"It's okay. I will be staying here for some time, so there is no problem," He said, glancing at the place where I am standing as I was behind both Bella and James.

"Oh, that's good. It's our greatest honor, Yah; by the way, I forgot to introduce you all," Uncle Ivan said with embarrassment that he forgot to introduce his family.

"No problem, please," He said with a little bit warm in his voice; I know all the women are gushing over him; I just rolled my eyes at his acting.

'What if he became an actor would surely win an Oscar for his acting. Everyone easily gets fooled by his act.

I have to take action before he could do anything, so first I have to book a ticket of a plane to home early so I can get everything ready to fight against him and all of them.'

Uncle Ivan started to Introduce everyone,

"Okay, this is my wife Catherine, you should know Mr. Riley Novan he is my friend also my in-law, she is his wife Maddie, he is my brother-in-law Mr. Bruno Lagvin, his wife, Ava,

Then my daughter Isabella, her fiancé, and Riley's son James, then Bill Bruno's son, Karyn, his daughter, and lastly Amaya, my daughter's friend, also helped us to welcome Mr. Chauhan here in these past two days."

He greeted everyone; even so, James and Bella never let me out from behind them.

then, Uncle Ivan introduced Hruday to everyone,

"He is Mr. Hruday Patel, A great businessman, an idol for youngsters from Country B, you should have heard of him, and you all should know about Mr. Rahul Chauhan."

Everyone greeted him back,

then he asked,

"Amaya?"

Everyone was stunned, my heart stopped beating for a minute, and everyone turned towards me; both Bella and James became stiff in front of me.

Uncle Riley then said after a minute of silence,

"Why are you both standing like that? Hurry away. Are you both hiding her?"

So they both then hurried to the side without any choice.

Bella clasped my hand as I came in front of him,

I stared directly at him, and my eyes became cold; many emotions were bubbling inside me like hate, loath, regret, pain, despise, betrayal, anger, hope, love, but I am controlling my feelings.

No one notices the changes, but my hands are trembling because I was suppressing everything with great difficulties.

I also saw in his eyes there are many emotions, but I don't want to find about them as I already decided to go against them, but those emotions are just flashed for a second then they are perfectly hidden behind a warm smile which he always gives everyone to deceive

Bella held my hand tightly so I could control myself. It warmed my heart. I know if not for their support, I may have already fallen,

I greeted him with a smile, but it's icy, and my voice became indifferent,

"Hello, Mr. Patel, it's nice to meet you."

"Hello, Ms. Amaya," He said, expecting me to say the last name

"Only Amaya," I said

"I didn't know I would have to meet anyone from our Country here. It's little surprising to see," He said

But I only smiled said nothing,

Then uncle Ivan urged us to go for dinner, we all sat at a big table. Many were staring at me with jealousy, envy, and hate from many women.

I know why because I don't have any status to sit here. I rolled my eyes,

'Oh please, I am not dying to sit here. I want to be far away but can't, okay... If any one of you wants to take my seat, I am delighted to let them.'

And I never clearly raised my head because I know someone is staring at me, and I don't want to look or even glance at him because I want to eat my food peacefully. If I see him, I will not have any appetite for food, not by disgust, but I don't know.
