Chapter 43: Forgotten

Xia's eyes fluttered open, the first thing that came to her hazy view was the flawlessly white ceiling.... And Zachary Benedict's familiar face looking closely at her.

'Where I am?' She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out of her mouth. Her throat was too dry like a dessert.  It's as if her throat dried up after not being able to drink water to keep her hydrated for almost a week.

She closed her eyes again because the blinding sunlight coming from the window pierce her eyes. It was making her blurry vision worst. She opened them again, this time her sight was clearer and she have a clear glimpse of the man looking at her with a worried expression on his face.

"Oh my god!  You're finally awake." Zachary Benedict muttered in relief.

She look at the face of  the man she badly missed.  The thought she will not be able see him again.  It fills her with dread even by just thinking she will die before she saw him again..
