Chapter 141: Is my willing heart not enough?

The water shimmers in the large bowl. A full moon gleams, hueing the sky with its faint crimson luminescence. Slowly, the clouds cover the moon, hiding the last of its rays. The scene in the bowl changes. Two men and a woman appear in it. 

She watches them with a quiet look in her eyes. Jingye is acting strangely, but he is acting in their favour. How did their king know that Jingye will change after the near-death experience? Then again, it's not strange for him to change. A lot of people change after they face death. 

The divine creature is the strangest one. It's probably because she was raised in another world. Her peculiar behaviour did work in their favour in the past, but the same trick won't work again. 

The priestess runs her hand over the bowl and the scene changes: a man and a woman are seen, standing near the bank of a frozen river.
