Chapter 96: Blocked at the Door

When Master Lu reached the first floor, he was greeted by his wife's angry and exasperated expression. She was clearly fuming mad but had nowhere to vent it on.

Master Lu smiled wryly. He knew that He Lixue had angered his wife, but he could not be mad at either of them. He Lixue had solved the problem too elegantly.

"You must be Miss He," he said as he looked at He Lixue. Although he had a favorable impression of her, he held a neutral expression on his face, making it hard to understand what he thought. 

He Lixue felt slightly nervous as she nodded her head. 

"Master Lu, I have brought some gifts for you both. I am aware that you already have everything you need, and if there is anything you want, you can get it yourself, so I tried to show my sincerity by making these gifts myself."

He Lixue handed over the bags to a maid, who took them away, and Master Lu nodded his head approvingly.
