Chapter 230: Water fountains
Jason sat on the bleachers. He watched and waited silently as the rest of the class finished up their last few laps. He wanted to drink water or something put had forgotten his water bottle.
There were a few people like Jason who had finished the mile and were sitting on the bleachers. Though Jason was completely alone almost as if he had a barrier that made people not able to reach him.
Jason had gotten a lot of points from the things he had just done. He was too lazy to look at them individually but he got around 200 just from the P.E class.
Still, it would have been nice if somebody could talk to him...
Jason suddenly felt a person walking over to him on the bleachers. He turned to see a boy walking up to him with a water bottle in hand.
Boops using the student sheet list that Jason had gotten quickly identified who the boy was.
His name was Jeff, he seemed to be a regular boy, just extremely sweaty as he struggled to walk over to Jason with his wobbly legs.
Jeff extended his hand and offered the unopened plastic water bottle to Jason. Jason took it gratefully
"thank you, Jeff," he said sincerely
Jeff didn't respond but collapsed on the bleachers next to Jason.
A huge grin covered Jeff's face
Jason knew his name! that meant they were rivals right?
Jeff turned his head ever so slightly and saw Jason drinking the water that he gave him with gusto. He also saw Reese snapping some photos of Jason drinking water with her brand new Orange 14 in the background.
He looked back at Jason and nodded at him. Jason didn't catch the nod since he was busy drinking water. But Jeff realized when Jason didn't respond, that he was silently saying to Jeff that he wasn't ready to become his rival.
Jeff dipped his head in sadness, but as quickly as he got depressed a fire was lit up in his eyes. He internally let out a roar, he wanted to do it physically but for some reason, he had the feeling that he shouldn't ruin the sacred scene of Jason drinking.
"Jason," he said to himself quietly
"ill become good enough to be your rival!"
And saying so Jeff stood up, and walked away his knees almost buckling and his legs shaking like a newborn fawn.
Jason turned to thank the kind person who had given him some water. But saw nobody.
"where did he go?" He asked Boops
Boops snickered
'you got yourself a rival Jason'
"a what?"
Boops dismissed it while marking Jeff on the map.
'its nothing that you need to know right now'
Jason complained
"oh come on, isn't that how misunderstandings are made? just tell me"
Boops let out a soft snicker and replied
'all in due time, besides shouldn't you get ready for your next class?'
Jason looked at the system clock.
"frick"

Jason walked out of the classroom complaining to Boops
"Why did the teacher have to call on me all the time? I understood everything"
Boops replied
'its because you were staring out the window the entire time, and he got salty since you got everything right'
Both of them let out mischievous laughter as Jason reached his locker.
He took one look at it. It was cramped, filled to the brink with stuff. It looked like if somebody would touch it, it would explode out.
"Yeah I'm not touching that," he said to himself and walked out changing his shoes with his inventory when nobody was looking.
As he walked out of the gate and the fresh breeze hit Jason.
Jason heard a loud "honk" and looked to his left.
A long black limo pulled up in frount of him. One of the black tinted windows rolled down and revealed Luna elegantly smiling while holding a cup of tea.
"come," she said while she beckoned Jason in "we will drop you off"
Jason thought why not? and opened one of the doors and entered the limo.
He saw Masuda sitting at the very frount of the limo right behind the driver's seat while Luna sat in the middle surrounded by tea and cakes. Najimi was also there, Jason had no idea why. He gave a light laugh and nabbed a cake from Luna while smiling at Jason.
The limo itself looked pretty. Smooth leather couches lined each side of the limo and clear glass holders extended out holding various cups in various sizes.
Luminescent lights lined the edges of the seats and ceiling of the limo
Masuda gave Jason a brief welcoming smile and gave the small wall separating the driver from the main cabin a soft knock.
The limo pushed off, surprisingly smoothly.
Jason carefully watched the tea in Luna's cup. It didn't seem to sway at all. Instead, it looked as steady as it would on a regular table.
Luna put down her teacup and neatly folded her hands on her lap.
"so Jason, how have you been?"
Jason awkwardly glanced at her and Masuda
"uhhh, didn't I answer this question at lunch?"
Luna shook her head gently and smiled
"I meant as allies"
Jason's expression was one of pure confusion but thankfully Boops was there to save the day.
'she means to tell her how things actually are instead of glossing over them'
Jason responded with a loud
"ohhhhhhhhh"
while Boops facepalmed in the background
"yeah," Jason said to Luna "like I said it's been pretty good, I recently took down a bandit leader and some other monsters, oh yeah! I also became really close to some wolves"
If Perseus was here he would have approved of Jason's words. They weren't spilling any secrets just ambiguous information that wasn't too useful yet seemed to fulfill what Luna was asking. It was truly a well thought out sentence. In reality, Jason was just too lazy to go into detail and tried to sum up everything quickly.
Luna raised her eyebrows at Jason's response appreciating being his ally more and more.
"well," she said while placing some sugar cubes into her tea.
"I guess I should update you a bit on our status, my family is currently recruiting as many experts as possible. As you probably know, skills, in reality, can affect your skills and talents in-game. So we have been trying to gather as many martial artists, fighters, and weapon wielders into our guild. Of course, blacksmiths and other production talents are people we also seek. So with the combined effort of the few experts that have arrived already at the main continent. We are getting very close to creating a guild"
Jason nodded
"oh really? that close?"
Luna nodded her head but slightly gripped her fists in frustration. She said in a frustrated and sulky voice
"its just that stupid Golden Pig Group! they have been competing with us for talents and have been buying up in-game money days before we even knew about WOW! It's like they have a genius advisor or something! And they refuse any attempts for us to buy them!"
Jason whispered to Boops quietly
"Hey, isn't that the group that Perseus....."
'shhhhhhhhhh'
Jason tried not to let out the grin that was threatening to cover his face. He nodded solemnly to Luna's words and said in the best sad monotone voice he could muster
"yup, that's truly horrible"
Luna nodded and downed the cup of tea like it was water
"yes, it is, I'm glad I can talk to you about his Jason"
Jason was almost at the breaking point. But right on time, the limo stopped at Jason's apartment complex.
He politely said thank you to Luna, waved goodbye to Masuda, and gave one last look of confusion to Najimi who was constantly stealing cakes from Luna without her noticing.
Jason waved to the limo as it slowly peeled off and drove away. Once both he and Boops made sure that they were gone. They both erupted into laughter.
It was a burst of gleeful laughter that seemed to ring through the streets.
Jason laughed for a good minute before finally calming himself down.
"I totally forgot about them," Jason said as he wiped a small tear that was forming out of the corner of his eye from laughing too much.
Boops answered still chucking
"yeah, Perseus has been doing a lot, I just didn't think enough to annoy a person like Luna pfft."
Jason walked up the stairs of the apartment with a grin covering his face.
A sudden thought hit Jason as he walked up
"since when did Luna know my address?"
Boops too suddenly realized this and seemed to sit in stunned silence.
'oh god' he said quietly 'that's kinda scary'
Jason agreed and walked into his apartment.
Once he locked the door and breathed in the scent of home, he walked over to his room where the capsule was waiting for him.
Later on, Jason decided to stop thinking about that, since it would only bring him more confusion and panic.
