Chapter 6: Get Off Me!
I awoke to the feel of something soft wrapped around me. I tried to turn over but whatever it was wouldn't let me. Wait? The memory of the last 48 hours rushed back to me, jolting me awake.
I opened my eyes to find what seemed to be a large black dog curled around me. I blinked several times at the creature more than twice my size. Last I checked dogs don't get this big. Whatever it is It seemed to still be asleep. I tried to move again but the furry thing just would not budge.
How did this thing get in here and when? I could see light shining on the waterfall so it was day time now. I got through the night without freezing to death by now I had a new worry. Was this thing going to eat me or will it let me go?
While fretting about what to come and how to get free I had not noticed two dark brown eyes staring at me. This realization about gave me a heart attack. Well here goes nothing I thought as I screamed "GET OFF ME!"
The creature jumped away at my scream and stared at me wide-eyed. Now that I was seeing the creatures full form I know this was no dog. What stood before me was a huge wolf. I felt every bone in my body told me to run but for the first time in my life, I froze.
The shock on the wolf's face now turned into one of confused as it stared at my frozen form. It started towards me slowly but then seemed to change its mind. The wolf looked around as if in search of something but when it appeared that it was not there it huffed. Under different circumstances I might have found the annoying sound cute but not when my life seemed to be hanging in the balance.
It looked back at me for a couple of seconds before it disappeared and in its place stood a man. At first, I thought myself delusional after all, here in front of me was a lightly tanned man where a swear the beast was two seconds ago.
The man had dark black hair cut short and the same dark brown eyes as the wolf. My eyes began to wander downwards to notice he was quite well built with broad shoulders and a six-pack. I should have stopped there because the guy turned out to be completely in the nude. I screamed and covered my eyes. "Put some clothes on."
"Are you sure you want me to?"The man sounded completely amused by my reaction."You seemed to like what you saw."
"Of course I want you to get dressed. Who runs around without clothes on?" I was not about to admit to liking anything to this smug bastard.
His laughter rang like bells through the cave. "I would have sooner but you are halfway sitting on them and you seemed terrified when I tried to get close. There are no other clothes here so I shifted without them." I peeked to my left and then my right. Sure enough, something resembling a fur skirt was under my butt. I blushed and threw the fur in his direction.
My mind was twisting around what he said about shifting. Does that mean what I think because if so my life has once again become more complicated. Shifters were something you found in fantasy novels and manga, not reality. Where not in freaking Twilight right now and the guy before me is no Jacob Black.
All this is starting to make my head hurt. If this is a dream please can I wake up now?
