Chapter 88: Meeting Gaara
When we were going through the park I saw a kid with red hair, dark circles under the eyes and kanji for love under his left eye. he was wearing red clothes and had a huge sand gourd behind his back.
He is Gaara, the future kazekage of this village.I walked towards him as the girls looked at me in confusion for what I was doing.
" hey, the name's Saito, what's your Name?" I asked him as he was swinging.
" You don't need to know about it. now leave before I kill you." he said looking darkly.
"hmm, I don't know about kill but why are you not telling me your name. Are you not proud of your name?" I said cheekily.
he was starting to get agitated as the cork on the gourd was moving a bit.
" It is Gaara. now you are happy. so leave." he said angrily.
"hehe, I am not leaving till we at least become friends." I said while laughing a bit.
he looked a bit surprised and asked with a bit of amazement," why do you want to become a friend of a monster like me? even my own father try to kill me, so why?"
I was very angry on the inside for what his father did but I replied in a calm voice," you are no monster. you are Gaara and I don't know for what your father did that and honestly, I don't care as I know that you are just as human as me or any kid playing around."
he was shocked with what I said. I again added," so want to be my friend?"
he looked Down and said," I am not loved and so I can't have friends."
"who said, you are not loved? I can show you that you are loved. you just need to look past the wall that you created on your own. And even if you were not loved that doesn't mean you can't have friends."I said
"hey, what are you doing to my brother?" suddenly temari came running and stood in front of Gaara with her arms open as if to shield him from me. He was shocked after seeing what happened.
I laughed a bit which agitated temari a bit and said to Gaara," I told you that you are loved. you just need to look past the exterior. so now we are friends."
he was a bit shocked but happy nonetheless, he nodded towards me and said," yeah, we are friends from now on." he forwarded his knuckle and I too did the same till our knuckle touched each others.
we both said at the same time," From now on we are friends."
And suddenly I pulled a few slips with fuinjutsu formulae on it. I gave them to gaara and said," put one on your chest before sleeping and you would be able to sleep for 8 hours. they are re-usable as well."
Temari was looking confused till now of what was happening here. her brother who always acts coldly and kills without batting an eye was smiling and became a friend. this was truly a very weird day.
Then suddenly after accepting the slips he thanked me at which I told him that there is no need for thanks to a friends. he then turned to his sister and walked towards her. she was frightened a bit that he would attack her but what he did surprised her out of her wits.
he bowed to her and said," I am sorry for what I did till now. I want to get to know you, sister." at that temari suddenly teared up and hugged gaara tightly while saying "yes" repeatedly.
I left at that moment leaving the brother and sister and along with the girls we went to the inn they asked me about gaara once we reached my room and I told them that he is a junchiriki and how he was treated. to say that they were angry would be the least.
