Chapter 32: Leveling Up, Part 4
Yiyi was woken up by her apartment's intercom buzzing, followed by the assistant's voice, "Young Miss, we are here to take you to school."
The girl was a bit drowsy, but quickly got dressed. She headed downstairs and got into the car. Yiyi had already started to get used to having a certain set routine, as the car let the apartment complex.
Once in the classroom, Yiyi leisurely went to her seat, and stared out the window. She ended up dazed in her thoughts, once again. Something that was slowly becoming a habit.
'Hmm hypothetically I could work to grind my status, so I could quickly level up... That's it, if I work towards the maximum of the skills that have a cap, then I can also steadily increase the others as well... For now I should focus on skills I can max out.'
The girls head were filled with thoughts on how to become a cheat character through ridiculous amounts of working. Xian had been ignoring his urge to keep glancing at her, but kept unintentionally letting out a chilly aura when others would stare at her for prolonged periods of time. There were occasional whispers, and rumors being spread about others during the class, but most of it went unnoticed by Yiyi. However, every once in a while, she heard rumor about herself. She just ignored it, because she didn't really care if people misunderstood her. Most of the rumors were just about her family, wealth or her looks, all of which, she didn't necessarily care if others spoke nonsense about. Not to mention, most of the rumors were just created by those who were curious and bored, hoping for a response from her. Which they were then disappointed at the lack of one and moved on.
School quickly passed, and came to an end. Yiyi headed straight to the car waiting for her, and asked, "Can we stop by a grocery store before heading back to the apartment?" Unknowingly, Yiyi's quick stop to the grocery store eventually lead to a slight misunderstanding from her mother, but for now, Yiyi was driven to the nearest grocery store...
She made her way through, grabbing whatever she thought she might want to try to make. The minimalist lifestyle that the previous owner had left the fridge, and cabinets with mostly microwavable food, and portable snacks. This wasn't really a big change from how Yiyi lived in her previous world, but now that she had quite a bit of time, just being able to relax for two years of school with some occasional studying, she decided to learn to cook, and do things that makes her get excited, rather than to mope over the change in lifestyle. While Yiyi was in the store she walked past an alcoholic isle, and almost reflexively went to put beer and wine into her basket. She regained her composure, and talked herself down, 'It's only another couple years...' "Haa-" She let out a sigh of regret, then left to buy the items in her basket. She was already on her way back home, and was pondering over what to eat when she got back.
