Chapter 30: Leveling Up, Part 2
After staring blankly at her stats for another 20 minutes, the system finally called out to her, [Although your stats aren't what you thought, they can be changed.] The system's way of speaking was as if they were trying to coax a child. Systems always spoke in a vague manner, making sure to exclude the important facts, such as the information that Yiyi's stats could fall, just as quickly as they could rise. The use of such unclear words was so that the host would not be heavily influenced by each system.
The girl abruptly stood up after the system's words. With a deep breath, her eyes had been filled with determination. "Huuu- Ok.. what do I start with?" Yiyi had wasted half an hour sulking over her overall shitty status. Her brain continuously swirled thoughts of how she wasn't a cheat character like she should be, until she decided that working with what she has is what she is used to. The present her had things to protect, and some basic ideas of how the future is supposed to play out.
"How much can I increase my [Intelligence]?" Yiyi called out after staring at her stats once more.
[Intelligence is maxed at the moment, based on host's understanding of this world.]
"Huh? Then what's with the [Placidity]?"
[Placidity is able to be any number more than or equal to zero]
"But, I-" Yiyi let out a sigh of disbelief. The system was doing an excellent job at filling Yiyi with anger. "Which of the stats have a maximum?" Yiyi knew that the system could give her vague answers, but if she asked a question directly, they wouldn't be able to lie to her.
[Status= Level: 3 - Not capped, Appearance: 7 - Capped at 10, Language: 5.8 - Not capped, Vision: 10 - Maxed, Strength: 2 - Capped at 10, Stamina: 1.5 - Capped at 10, Intelligence: 10 - Maxed, Empathy: 8 - Not capped, Placidity: 13 - Not capped]
Yiyi was a bit confused as to how the other stats were measured, since they were able to reach above ten, but she decided to take baby steps, and for today she would simply work a bit on her language, and stamina skills. She was a bit sour over the fact her language skill was so low, especially since she worked so hard at studying before she transmigrated. With the idea to go buy some english workbooks, Yiyi got dressed in casual clothes, and started to head out for the day.
