Chapter 19: What’s going here?
"I want to hurry and continue to play the game!! Before my fighting spirit and hot shooting gone cold..." Mitsui said to Akagi before the game resumes.
"Okay..." Akagi replied.
"Let's use zone press on this one and I'm sure that this will catch them off-guard!" Mitsui said to his teammates.
"Are you sure, Mitsui-senpai?" Miyagi asked.
"Don't push yourself too much, Mit-chi!" Sakuragi puts his hand over the shoulder of Mitsui.
"Trust me, guys! Even we score more points against them to the last two minutes! They will make a comeback eventually and foul us repeatedly to win this game. These unless we put off their flame of desire to win this game!!" Mitsui explained his reason
The second half of the game is less than four minutes left and Shohoku is leading but was already tired coz by the intensity of the game. Shohoku is only leading comfortably by fifteen points because of Mitsui's hot shooting from beyond the arch and his defensive hustle.
As long Fujima and Shoyo stays aggressive on both defense and offense sides of the floor. A comeback from fifteen points deficit is possible coz Shoyo is a well disciplined and organized team around their playing coach.
"Ok! Let's step-up the things here from now on and calmly continue a=our attack!!" Fujima safely got the ball from Hanagata.
"Come on!!" Mitsui and Sakuragi trapped Fujima hoping he commits a turn-over so Shohoku didn't waste energy and closely stick to their marked opponents.
Miyagi took advantage of Hanagata's moment of hesitation after he received the pass from Fujima. He successfully stole the ball but didn't went for a fast break since this ball possession is very crucial in this game and Shoyo has already back to defense.
"I have to carefully handle this ball and definitely have to score on this one!!" Miyagi said.
Waiting for his teammates to start their offense, he kept dribbling above the arch and Mitsui finally is in his position.
"Miyagi!" Mitsui asked for the ball.
"Here you go... What kind of attack is he planning to do!? Is he going to attract the defense then pass it or directly slash his way through the defense of Shoyo?" Miyagi said while observing what the next of Mitsui is.
Mitsui didn't used fake or hesitation move this time, after he catch the ball and quickly shoots it like high arching rainbow while at the end is the basket, instead of a pot of gold.
"Ha?!" Miyagi was also surprised w/ the catch and shoot play of Mitsui.
His defender was caught off-guard since he was newly sub-in for Hasegawa. W/out interference w/ his shot and the ball fly into the hoop effortlessly.
"Oh no! I'm freaking screwed up!!" Shoyo's Tagano watch the ball flying to the hoop.
"Rebound!!" Hanagata and two more Shoyo players are against Akagi and Sakuragi.
"You can pass the ball to this genius, Mit-chi!!" Sakuragi said.
"Focus on the rebound, Sakuragi!!" Akagi shouted while fighting for the position w/ Hanagata.
"Swish!!" nothing but the net and Mitsui's release was much faster than before.
"Whoa!!" crowd reacts.
"Mitsui's hands are on fire!!" Kogure said.
"Nice quick three, Mitsui!!" Ayako said.
"Mitsui-senpai!" Miyagi was relieved to see the ball entered.
"Shohoku is now leading by eighteen points!! Mitsui-senpai is really scary when he catches on fire!!" Hikoichi said.
"Mitsui Hisashi... you truly can have a terrifying level, once you reach your full potential..." Uozumi said.
"Damn it!!" Mitsui's defender said.
"I will not lose to anyone but to myself..." Mitsui is breathing heavily while returning to defense and talking shit to Hasegawa on the bench.
"Defense!!! 3x" a lot of people are cheering for them and he completely silenced the cheering squad of Shoyo.
"That's great offense! It's to let them taste our defensive intensity!!" Akagi said.
"Yeah!!" Shohoku players replied.
"If I won't try my best right now... then I'm just the ignorant shit that I'm used to be!! I must score more on this Bast***!!" Mitsui said to himself.
"What!! Fujima is thinking to shoot a three pointer!!" Hikoichi said.
Miyagi got the timing of Fujima's shot, he jumped enough to block it and said. "Don't even think about shooting on my head!!"
"What?!" Maki was surprised to Miyagi went to block Fujima's shot.
"Ryouta!" Ayako felt the same w/ everyone watching.
"Miyagi!! Fast break!!" Mitsui shouted.
"Oh yeah!! I'm coming!!" he replied.
"Get back on defense!! Stop them at all cost!!" Fujima shouted to his teammates who're chasing behind him.
"Yah!!!" Kogure shouted.
"Mitsui-senpai!!" Yasuda said.
Come on!!" Shohoku's bench is going crazy after the block of Miyagi.
Miyagi drives straight to the basket, Fujima closely defending him and decided to pass it since he can't shake his defense.
"Hmph!! Mitsui-senpai!!" A no look passes to just arrive Mitsui in right wing 45 degrees.
"Argh!! Not this time!!" his defender shouted and tried to block it.
"Mitsui!!" tried another hesitation move, then steps back and a quick three like he did before but w/ much finesse.
"Another three pointer from the ninja!!" the game announcer said.
"Ooh... A really beautiful form by Mitsui..." Coach Anzai said.
"In..." Mitsui said.
"It's in..!." Kogure said.
"What's going here?!" Sakura said.
Shohoku is not giving Shoyo a chance for a comeback from after life!!" Coach Taoka said.
"Shohoku 65 vs. 44 Shoyo, Shohoku is now leading by twenty-one points!! Mitsui-senpai is at his best condition!" Hikoichi said.
