The guards looked at each other and blinked a few times before nodding without a choice.
It was shameful to even talk about beating up a child but it was still better than killing him. Knowing the young master he rarely compromises so there wasn't any more point convincing him.
'Sorry lad.' the guards apologized internally and they thought they would just rough him up a little without breaking anything.
Though they were unarmed, they were all trained 'greys' that graduated from the academy and had countless life and death battles so taking on a kid who likely just became an onmyouji wasn't much of a problem.
As they charged through the mist blindly one of them suddenly felt something wasn't right. He tried to step back but it was too late.
A sphere of water swallowed him whole and since he was really unprepared he started choking.
He never imagined a kid had the ability to do something like this! Even the graduate 'whites' he worked with never used this type of ability.
Rin actually gotten the idea from the five star onmyouji who betrayed the army. The method he used was quite uncommonly used, it was usually used sort of like a booby trap or time delay attack which could really turn things around in a fight however it did have a downturn. The output would usually require more spirit particles to have the same effect as casting a normal charm so most onmyoujis chose not to learn it.
As the fog finally cleared, the arrogant young master was tongue tied. Two out of five guards were in a water bubble still struggling and the other three were only now beginning to try to rescue the other two. Meanwhile his target was nowhere to be seen!
Were you expecting a fight like in shounen manga? Hot blooded fight between an arrogant young master with his bodyguards?
Nah. Rin ran the moment he could. Why would he stay to fight? The opponent was obviously from a power house since he went around with bodyguards. Plus he did not know if he could beat them so he hightailed out of there as fast as he could after setting the charm traps.
Leaving a rather angry young master who took out his anger on his bodyguards. Many words like 'incompetent' and 'good for nothings' were heavily used. Well more like screamed at.
Rin on the other hand was already far from them. He was thinking on how to proceed. He clearly heard their conversation so he knew that they had quite a lot of pull. So telling his trainers may not be the best idea, they may not have the power to protect him and he may gain the ire of that young master's family.
Rin sighed, he was used to jealousy from other boys but it was the first time he was attacked without warning. Why were people so difficult to co-exist with he couldn't understand.
Rin thought about it awhile and thought he should consult with Sylvia at least. It may possibly trouble her but he had to do something didn't he?
So Rin took out his communicator but before he could command the communicator to dial her number, she already dialed his!
"Hello?" Rin answered.
"Rin! Where are you now?" Sylvia had a worried tone.
"I'm near the library why? Is something wrong?"
"Something wrong!? You tell me! Someone just reported you for attacking them within the academy!"
Rin was shell shocked.
