Chapter 70: The Fleeting Feeling

HIS EYES PRACTICALLY glistened, reflecting the light of the flickering, wavering candle light on the desk a short distance away from the bed. Spade's lips were slightly parted, pink and deliciously plump, causing Alice's eyes to dart towards it for a split second before returning to focus on Spade.

"Uh…" she trailed off, at a loss for words as she struggled to even out her breathing. "S-Spade?"

The second prince didn't reply her. Instead, he continued to look, to stare, eyeing her like she was a prey that was pressed beneath a predator, about to be devoured. A trace of lust flitted through his eyes, something Alice caught very well, and her heart skipped a beat.

"W-Wait… S-Spade? What are y-you doing?" she was starting to stammer now, and the prince continued to ignore her words. Instead, Spade leaned forward, his eyes trailing to her lips before slowly meeting her gaze again.

"Alice…" he murmured, his voice barely audible even with how close they were poised to one another.
