Chapter 11: I will find a new partner
They reached the venue by quarter to eight.
Linda didn't let go off him and was clung on to him. She regretted for coming here. She exactly knows she never welcomed crowded areas yet she chose that to impress Zenith.
Air around her was really tensed and that was sensed by Zenith.
Linda relaxed a bit seeing an knowing face and a smile spread across her face. She walked towards her and greeted her mother-in-law,"How are you mom?"
They become very close when she spent her days in the hospital bed.
"Fine dear. You look pretty in this dress.",Mary complimented her.
Linda smiled at her compliment.
A voice at her back made her turn her head,"Sis-in-law--", after her turning a young man in her age continued,"I'm Chris, your bro-in-law. I know that my bro hasn't even talked about me so I planned to introduce myself."
Yeah he was right. She found this face totally new. She didn't get to see this face even in her wedding album.
Smiling at his introduction,"I'm Linda--", but was interrupted by Chris,"Wait,wait,wait I know more about you even than my brother, so I think there is no need for a formal introduction."
Linda raised her eyebrow with the sentence he said, 'I know more about you' how was that possible when she met him for the first time.
"I know you are confused, I will clear your confusion". he moved to his left and extended his right to a figure walking towards them.
She was a familiar figure to Linda. Yes it was Luna. Linda's mouth hung open.
"Surprise!!",Luna said standing before Linda.
It took minutes for Linda to understand her surroundings. Linda excused herself from others and walked away with Luna.
"Hey girl, cool, let me explain, Chris and I studied in the same college and we fell in love. I talked tons and tons about us, you and me.",Luna spoke without breathing.
Finally accepting about it they walked inside the hall and found that couples were dancing in the center of the hall and Luna excused herself and joined Chris for dancing.
Linda started scanning the hall for Chris and found him leaning on the table with a wine glass in his hand.
She strode towards him and stood before him with a large grin in her face.
Sensing that Linda has planned something Zenith stood straight and excused himself but before he could move she held his left hand "Hey, wait.",Linda said.
With no other choice Zenith turned his head and focused her waiting for her to speak.
"Mmmmm... Well", gesturing her right hand up she continued,"Would you be my partner for dancing?"
Zenith looked at her hands and then her face and a big grin crept on his face,"Sorry, I am not interested.", with this he turned and moved a few steps away from her.
Annoyed with his answer she walked towards him and standing before him she crossed her hands before her chest and said, " Fine, it's OK if you didn't want to dance with me, I will find a new partner to dance with me."
She moved into the crowd without waiting for his answer. Zenith was dumbstruck with her, he expected that she would come behind him and please him to be her partner, but she just walked away saying that she will find a new partner.
A lots of cheering was heard in the crowd and he was pissed in the thought she dancing with a man. He pushed the crowd aside and stepped in the front and a wide smile was now popping in his face 'CUTE' this was the only thought that arose in his mind.
He witnessed the scene Linda dancing with a boy who was twelve or thirteen years old. She had a big smile in her face. It was evident she was enjoying this dance. He didn't see this smile in her face when they danced in their wedding reception. A sudden memory came to his mind, Yeah how could he forget that their marriage was forced and she was never interested in him.
He focused only on Linda's smiling face who was currently enjoying her dance.
He noticed Linda's gaze towards him and he moved forward to the dancing boy and stopped him and whispered something in his ears and the boy smiled and left the crowd and Zenith joined the dance in the place of the boy and intertwined his hands with Linda's and started dancing.
