A week later a message from the King arrived at their gates, Asking their prescence at the awaited birthday of the crown prince August Sullivan.
The whole family was expected to come and celebrate, there will be a grand party at the Kingdom every noble is invited that inculded the lower rank nobles such as the Baron and Viscount.
The insignia stamped on the middle of the note was a gold dragon, meaning the highest and mightiest of all the noble famillies. The invitation was due for the next 4 days, the days are used for the preparation for the party and for the guests.
After Carnia heard the news of the invitation, her mind swirled again to the events of what led the infamous killing of Viscount Arden, it was the talk of the town for a couple of days but dispersed after the news of the Crown prince birthday emerged.
After what happend at the party Carnia was unable to eat fried pork for a few days she would vomit after seeing one, even now she feels an urge to throw up.
"Are you okay?."
Linda asked in a worried voice, after finding out that her daughter would retch at the sight of fried pork, she warned the chefs of the kitchen to not serve fried pork as long she said so.
When Carnia looked at Linda, she still remembered how she manipulated her for thinking she was a bad person and because of that Linda had gone mad. she started to have illusions in her mind she thought of her own story to connect with the illusions fed to her.
Infront of other people she was the women they all admired and adored, beautiful with a kind heart but when Carnia is in sight, she would be overly sweet and protective of her, she would give anything and everything for her daughter like a crazed maniac.
Carnia thought that this was her responsibility to bear, she started this and wanted this to happen. she just had not thought that the aftermath of what she did would cause the crazed sight of her mother.
"I am okay.
Carnia smilled, grinning at her mother like nothing had happend but deep inside she wanted to go to her room and rest on her bed.
"Then go rest in your room, if you want something tell the maids immediately."
She went up the stairs and into her room, greeting her was Gina and the other three maids standing guard at the entrance of the room. Gina opened the room herself and bowed, the three followed suit.
"Thank you.
She went inside and plopped in her bed, resting in a straight position while her face sinked into the bed sheets and her feet dangling on the air.
"(Are you okay?.)"
Fayre sat on top of her, her form was still in a little fox form but a little bigger than last time, her mana is still recovering little by little. Her illusion magic worked like a charm but drained her mana.
"(No.)" he answered still lying face down.
"(Since we came back from that party, you looked pretty weird.)
When Carnia did not reply to her comment, she patted her head violently like a smack but since her paw was light and tiny it felt more like a pat to Carnia.
Fayre is annoyed by the lack of reaction she showed when she smacked her. this time she used a small amount of mana on her paw and smacked the back of her head.
"Ouch!."
Carnia touched her head out of shock, she really felt the pain surging thru her veins. she had to massage her temple to decrease the pain.
"Whats wrong, Madam?.
The people from the outside came rushing in, bothered by the scream of the madam inside the room. Gina marched forward and bent her knees checking every spot for a sign of bruise while others checked every nook and cranny of the room, looking down beneath the bed to the bathroom and the closet.
"Nothings seems to be wrong with the madam."
She looked again, making Carnia sit up straight checking her legs and hands but it was all pristin clear.
"Kyaaa!."
A scream is heard in the bathroom, colliding with roots of laughter. Martha left the bathroom running towards Beth in a hurried motion, hiding behind her, following Martha is Emily holding a dead mouse laughing wickedly while running towards Martha.
They both circled each other with Beth between them, Emily pushed Beth to the side and Beth quickly fell to the ground, trembling and lifeless. the two continued to do loops into the whole room, turning and running without messing up the whole room but then a loud *Clang* surrounded the room. they both stopped from what they were doing and looked beside them.
A large vase with flowers embedded on it fell into the floor with a loud *Clang*. the two quickly grabbed the broken pieces, one by one and tried to connect it but as expected it all fell down.
The two trembled in fear as the prescence of a mighty tiger had come down behind them, Gina stood behind them and glared pinching both of their ears while dragging them up from their feet.
"You!..Two!!."
Gina screamed at the top of her lungs, startling Carnia with her loud voice. Gina realised how loud her voice was and bowed her head at Carnia apologising for her rudeness.
"What will you say?."
Gina made them kneel infront of Carnia, Gina held their heads and made them bow properly on the other hand Beth was still on the ground beside her was the dead mouse thrown on the air by accident.
"We are sorry Madam, it was an accident we promise to fix the vase by tomorrow and never do it again."
"There is no need to, an accident is an accident."
Carnia smiled, she felt awkward by the sudden formalities of the two that she felt suffocated, being natural to one another is good using formalities while she is still a child gives her goosebumps.
The two looked like an angel has ascended right infront of them, in their eyes Carnia had wings and a halo on top of her head. Gina is shocked by the Madams answer she knew that Carnia was a good child but not to this extent, in other households if an accident like this happend to them the maids have already disimissed from their work.
"But why was there a dead mouse in the bathroom.?."
Emily asked, looking above her but her head was still pinned down so she was having a hard time looking up. she tapped Gina's hand to release her from her grasp which she did.
"Where did you exactly find it?."
Martha also stood up stretching her head, left and right her bones making a cracking sound in the process.
"Right over there, I saw loads of dead insects inside the drawer."
Carnia looked at Fayre and she turned her head, looking oblivious of it all she even whistled in innocence but Carnia knew who the culprit was. Fayre was a fox and would eat absolutely anything.
"(I know its you.)"
Fayre turned around and smiled, her eyes twinkling asking for help in keeping her food safe. Carnia stared at her devastated but since she has helped her all this time she had to return the favor.
"Madam, should I throw these?."
Martha took the whole drawer full of dead insects and showed it infront of her, it was indeed full of dead insects and worms.
"No, you don't have to I'll do it myself."
she grabbed the drawer and put it into the table, grinning at them innocently. she explained that if she learned how to do the tasks all by herself then she can learn to be independent.
the three were delighted by her explanation and let her be, they dragged Beth back and left the room feeling proud of their little madam.
"(Hey, will you really throw it away?.)"
Fayre asked frantically, sitting on top of the drawer, spreading her legs to protect her huge stack of food
"(Of course not, it was an excuse.)"
She once again burried her head into the bed, laughing at the praises Fayre kept throwing at her while squeeling in joy, she closed her eyes one more time before actually falling asleep.
