"What are the two of you doing?."
Mylene asked, standing beside Lakinda being buddy-buddy for some kind of unknown reason. Janeth stood beside her, her face flushed from the embarassement she recieved earlier.
"We were just talking."
Lakinda smiled slightly, feeling uncomfortable by them ganging up on her, anyone would be intimidated if someone older than you suddenly tried to be chummy with you.
"Ahh!, Carnia I am so happy you could come in the party."
Janeth grabbed both of Carnia's hand, saying her gratitude while bragging about his relationship with his brother.
"Does Aiden talk about me?."
Janeth blushed at her own question, looking forward to the answer Carnia would say. her round eyes drilling into her body, waiting for the awaited response she wanted to hear.
"No, Not at all."
Janeth once again felt embarassed and let go of the hand holding Carnia's, a soft chuckled is heard right beside her, she looked at her right side and it was Lakinda trying to hold her laughter, her body trembling from trying to hold it in.
"Are you okay, Lakinda?."
Mylene grasped her shoulders, worried about Lakinda's current state, she brushed Mylene's hand and grinned.
"I am okay, I am just abit cold thats all."
"Ahh.., Oh I like your dress."
Mylene changed the subject and tried to please Lakinda with sweet words, comparing her outfit to hers and saying Lakinda's dress is more pretty than hers, when in fact Mylene looked more extravagant with all of the gold accessories attached in her body, trying to be more superior than her.
"it is really beautiful!."
Janeth joined in, trying too hard to please Lakinda, she tried her best by naming all of the brands of her outfits and by telling her that only a princess like her could afford expensive things for well known brands.
"but why does your dress look like that Carnia?, did you not have time to prepare?."
Mylene asked with a hint of sarcasm in her tone, she looked at Carnia pitifully trying to emphasize that her dress is like a peasants not like a nobles with her current status.
"Really?, I should have extended the party if I had known you were not prepared.
Janeth as expected joined in the fight, the two were in the same boat, in the past as well in the present, they really like double ganging Carnia not in a explicit way but in a childish way.
"This is Pia and Anns work right?, I noticed their logo in your dress."
Lakinda commented and just like that the people in the group grew silent there jaws wide open from the people that were mentioned by Lakinda.
"What?!, but they dont accept anymore clients."
Mylene raised her voice, a couple of years ago Pia and Ann were the designers of her clothes but suddenly the two announced that they would not accept any people anymore and would only make for the royal family and other special people.
"I dont believe you, how could they make such an awful dress?!."
Janeth blabbered her mouth, not minding that the one she raised her voice at is someone who is higher by two ranks at her, Janeth has also the same situation as hers the two made a couple of dresses for her but suddenly stopped and wont accept anymore clients.
"But if you look at it, it is quite beautiful.... simple yet beautiful."
Lakinda grinned ear to ear by their flabbergasted expression, without noticing Carnia had a little sneak peak of Lakinda's true personality before her rebirth as a b*tch will begin a few years later.
"Ye-Yes, It is quite beautiful."
Mylene looked so into it, the way she gritted her teeth by the forced compliment she just made, Janeth just smiled the entire time being afraid of what would the become of their relationship if she kept raising her voice at the princess.
Janeth excused herself from the group and instantly the conversation turned Carnia into the center of the attention, Lakinda kept complimenting her dress and asking what kind of design it is.
"I designed it myself."
"really?,it is really pretty I hope you wont mind me wearing your design in the near future."
Carnia felt proud, if a princess like her wear her designs then the dresses would probably be on trend, a godly figure as her could make her more famous by wearing her styled clothings.
"Oh, my look at that.. the musician is here."
Mylene stopped their conversation and her actions was as if she was waiting for something, then her eyes wondered into the center of the hall and made a sarcastic gesture, pointing at the center.
"I would like to play a song for the guests, Think of it as a form of thank you for coming."
she sat on the piano bench, her fingers dancing on the piano board, playing the song Ode to joy by Beethoven, a master peice that was written by a legend and now being played by a total beginner, the way she played was sloppy, the feeling was not there. not to brag but Carnia was an expert in this field, this was the only talent she was confident of sports was not his forte but lets just say she was average in sports.
she finished her sloppy playing and stood up from the bench, applauses were quickly rained down on her such a sloppy work but amazing reactions. totally unbeffiting of her performance.
"She is really good right?."
Mylene kept praising her and complimenting Janeth the whole time while she was performing that even Lakinda is frowning by her side, Mylene had to stap yapping for Lakinda to tone down what she was feeling.
"Such a young age yet she could play the piano perfectly, she might as well be a progidy am I right Carnia?."
the question really damaged Carnia's pride, the pride of a musician is much more thin than anything in this world. just as much she did not want to agree she also did not want to make a fool out of herself infront of her enemy.
"She did a pretty good job."
Lakinda's reply hit the nail, she is stubborn she admits it beside being a conman she was a musician. she played the piano for fun but quickly fell in love with it, at first it was just her copying the style of Your lie in April but it became a small gig with her playing the OP and ED of the anime songs.
she may sound ridiculus right now but that was her, a musician and conman who is addicted to animes, it was not weird for a thirty year old to be addicted in anime's since even old men watch hentais almost everyday they were basically the same if you ask her.
"If anyone would like to perform, be my guest."
Janeth asked the crowds of people looking at Mylene in the crowd, winking at her. Mylene was about to raise her hand when Carnia beat him to it and walked in the direction of the center.
"I think not."
