"Your dress is really pretty, where did you buy it?."
Carnia huddled beside a group of young children on the corner next to the selection of deserts. the young children were either high nobles or the nouveau riche. Carnia is also on par with them but their taste in fashion is over the top and exaggerating.
Their families must have also thought this was the time to showcase their wealth, crystals, diamonds and gold attached to every nook and cranny of the dress even the jewelries were bizzare and blinding to the eyes.
"Of course its pretty, it is a limited edition dress by Chan-nel."
She spun around boasting her wealth infront of everyone in the group, the others felt offended and started bragging about their own jewerlies and accessories in their outfits almost everything that would cost a dime has been brought up in the conversation anything that could make themselves more better than the others.
It came to a pit stop, when the center of attention drawed to Carnia, the people in the group did not seem to know who she is. that meant the people in this group were childrens from the families of a nouveau riche, the people that were invited in her birthday party were families with prominant standing, famillies who were long time nobles since a new Emperor arrived.
she heard it from her mother that ever since the new Emperor ascended to the throne, almost all of the people that supported his campaign were quickly promoted as a noble hence the ranking system has been unbalanced right from the start, even low ranking nobles were treated as a commoner due to the high sum of nobles in the kingdom.
the young girls began to throw insults at her, ridiculing her plain styled dress and her poor taste of fashion, Carnia could not blame them from throwing shade at her seeing as how tacky dresses and over the top accessories were the second trend in this kingdom she did not stand a chance but their insults were more like music in her ears, they insult her for her poor style of clothing when in reality they looked more like a profligate chandelier with those dress, shame on you Chan-nel.
"Carnia..Valentine?"
A young child with hair the color of gold bars and eyes clear as the ocean blue, stared at her with curiosity in her eyes. a child that looks like an angel, a face that looks irritatingly familliar.
"Carnia Valentine? where?!."
A child from the group asked the newcomer, looking abit curious and excited of where the first lady of Valentine family could be, the new comer that will be named angel for now pointed at Carnia and took her hand to hers grinning at her ear to ear with her toothy smile.
all the children from the group were all shocked, looking down on the floor with embarrasement written on their faces, without anything to say the children excused themselves from the group one by one and dispersed. if Carnia was not the lady of the Valentine family then they would have cared less and continued with their insults.
"Excuse me, Princess but I have to go somewhere."
the child infront of her that was the number one hater of her left quietly, lightly nodding her head to Carnia and bowing sincerely at the young child beside her.

she thought, freezing at the words seemingly stuck in her mind, there was only one princess in the kingdon and that person was Princess Lakinda, the first princess of the kingdom and the first person to ever openly abuse her infront of people, Lakinda was kind to the people she liked but harsh to the people she hated, if she despised a person she would not hesitate to show her hatred.

she was the oldest sister of August and quite frankly Lakinda was obsessed with his little brother, she treated herself like a mother infront of August and sadly Lakinda did not like the idea of Carnia being with her brother because of the quote on qoute not good enough for her brother hence the broken marriage of the two.
for now the present situation is that she did not want to meddle with troublesome affairs any longer, one thing that she would like to avoid the most is getting married to August, the problem only started when the past Carnia married the reincarnated cheater, the problem led into a problem and into a bigger problem. getting connections is one thing but getting involved with the Sullivans is a no go.

for now all she had to do is be as polite as she could, forming an alliance would also do her good if she had a person supporting her within the royal family, then the Williams family had to think twice before messing with her but that did not mean them being close friends just being close acquintance is enough.

Lakinda had not even finished her sentence when Mylene and Janeth were spotted walking in their direction. Janeth waving her right hand at Lakinda, she responded back with a simple nod which backfired quite easily to Janeth, she smiled weakly when her plans about being buddy-buddy with the princess came to a holt.
