Reunites
After work, Han Chen came over. "Hi, Mr. Han. Came to see Xia Xi?"
"Yes."
"Okay, I'm gonna get going now. Goodbye Mr. Han."
"Goodbye Fan Fan."
<<KNOCK KNOCK>>
"Come in." Han Chen walked in and saw Xia Xi so concentrated in her work that she didn't notice it was him. "Working late again?" Xia Xi looked up and saw Han Chen standing there. "You came? Do you need something?" Han Chen grabbed the seat and sat down, "Must there be something in order for me to come?" "No. You know I didn't mean that." Xia Xi kept typing on the keyboard and Han Chen finally gave in. "Okay, I'll get straight to the point. I just received news about my sister. They said she's most likely in Paris right now, so I'm planning to go there tomorrow. So, today I came here to tell you that I can't be in tomorrow's meeting with you." Xia Xi suddenly stops typing. "You're going to Paris tomorrow? I have to go there tomorrow to do some work."
Han Chen's eyes widened, "Oh really? Such a coincidence. Did you buy your ticket yet?" "I've already told Fan Fan to order it for me. I have to go there early in the morning with Fan Fan and right now I have to get these things done." She sighs and leaned back on the chair. "Shouldn't you be happy? It's Paris! You could use this time to relax too after work is done." Xia Xi suddenly falls asleep on the chair. Han Chen walked over and grabbed her jacket on the hook, and put it over her. He took her phone and set an alarm for her. "I'll let you rest for 20 minutes or else you'll oversleep for tomorrow's flight" as he slowly puts down the phone and exits her room.
* "Hey, what are you drawing?" "Can't tell you, it's a secret." "C'mon let me see it." Climbing over him, she snatches it away from him. "Oooo, it's so nice. Is this for one of your projects?" He snatches back, "no" "Then who is it for?" He stares at her for a really long time. "Xia Xi, will you marry me?" ...… she nodded and he held her up. *
<<BEEP BEEP BEEP….>>
"OMG, when did I fall asleep?" She woke up and found a post- it note on her table. "Go home and rest." Xia Xi leans back on her chair and takes off her glasses. "What was that before?" as she touches her head and puts her hand on her face. She sighs and gets up from her chair. She grabbed her jacket and bag, and headed out the door.
The next morning…..
It's 6am and Xia Xi woke up early to pack for her business trip to Paris. As she goes through her checklist, Fan Fan calls her. "Xia Xi, I'm so sorry. I can't go to Paris with you today. I didn't realize that my passport expired last year and I didn't renew it. But don't worry I've already sent you your ticket to Paris today in your mailbox." "It's okay, I need you to stay in the office anyway. Just call me if anything happened." Xia Xia ends the phone and finishes packing. She grabbed her jacket and luggage, and headed out the door.
<<BEEP BEEP>>
She unlocks her car and puts her luggage behind the trunk. As she was about to drive, someone opened the door and hopped in. "Woah woah there, how did you get here?" as Xia Xi turned around and saw Han Chen. "I've been waiting here since morning. Didn't I tell you I was going to Paris too?" Xia Xi looked at him to see if he was telling the truth. "Don't look at me like that. Why would I lie to you? It just happens that there's no more tickets to Paris this morning and Fan Fan just gave me hers. It's just this simple." Xia Xi gave him an eye look and started driving.
--------------- At Paris-------------
The flight from Shanghai to Paris was a twelve hour long flight. By the time the plane landed in Paris, it was already late at night. "Don't follow me now," as Xia Xi stopped and looked into Han Chen's eyes. "Fine, I won't. Don't call me when you're lost," as Han Chen starts walking away. Xia Xi exits the airports and tries to call a cab. After trying for 20 minutes, she finally got on a cab and arrived at the hotel. "Merci beaucoup," as Xia Xi walks out. She carries her luggage and heads inside the hotel. She walked up to the reservation desk and got her keys to her room. "6/204?" She looks at the key number and searches for it. After 5 minutes, she finally found it. As she was about to open the door, the door next door from hers opened. "HEYYY," Xia Xi got startled and dropped her keys on the floor. "OMG, can you stop coming out of nowhere. And plus why are you here?" "What do you mean why am I here? I was here first and don't say I followed you. I didn't even know that you were even coming here." "Whatever," and Xia Xi bent down and picked up her keys. As she was opening it, Han Chen stopped her. "Do you want to go to the bar downstairs and grab a drink?" "No thank you. I'm so tired already and I have to get up early tomorrow." "Okay, suits you then."
Xia Xi enters the room and puts the card key on the slot. "I gotta take a hot shower first before I fall asleep." She grabs a change of clothes and goes inside the shower. As she was showering, her phone kept ringing. After 20 minutes, she came out and as she was drying her hair, she saw 10 missed calls from Han Chen. "What is he up to now," as she pressed the button and called him back.
"Hello?" "What do you want this time? I'm telling you that I won't go down and drink with you." "Uhmm, hello? Is this your friend? He is drunk and this is the first number that showed up on his phone. Can you come down stairs to the bar and pick your friend up?" "Oh yea, I'm sorry about that. I'll come right now." Xia Xi ended the phone and headed out the door.
At the bar, Xia Xi could see Han Chen at the end of the bar. She walks over to him, "Hey, wake up." He didn't move or anything. "Hey Miss, uhh your friend didn't pay yet." Xia Xi touched her pocket and she didn't bring any cash down. "Uhmm, can you put the tab under my name?" "Okay." "Thank you so much." As the bartender leaves, Xia Xi tries to budge Han Chen out of the bar, but he is so heavy that Xia Xi has to drag him.
As Xia Xi was dragging him to take the elevator, she saw the elevator doors about to close. "Wait, can you hold it for me. I'm coming," as she screams and tries to run to it with Han Chen on her shoulder. "Th-thank you," as she got inside the elevator running out of breath. As she catches her breath, she sees two people right next to her. One of them she never wants to see in her life again. She fixes her posture and fixes her hair, as Han Chen is leaning on her shoulder. "I'm going all the way for you. How could you do this to me." Xia Xi frozed and notice them looking at her. She nudged Han Chen to wake up, but he didn't. "I do everything you told me to do, but why can't you care about my feelings?..." Han Chen kept rambling and Xia Xi didn't know what to do. Suddenly, he turned around. He laughed, "can't believe after so many years, you haven't changed." Xia Xi looked at him and put Han Chen down in the corner of the elevator. "What rights do you have to speak to me like that?" He didn't reply back. "Lei Kai Xuan, if you have the guts to say something, why won't you answer me back now??" as Xia Xi raised her voice. "Oh we're here," as he walked out with the woman. "Lei Kai Xuan! Don't you dare to leave." Xia Xi picks up Han Chen and starts racing after him. "Lei Kai Xuan!" she screamed so loud that he stopped walking. The woman who was right next to him turned around instead. "Excuse me, who are you?" as the woman asked Xia Xi. "Then who are you?" as Xia Xi talked back.
