When Haifa was beside me it wasn't long for the other families began expressing their displeasure especially the younger generation who were vying for her attention but it was also apparent looking at the elders who were moments before I arrived were trying to negotiate a union between their families and the Lernea household who before would not have even considered such a proposal as the Lernea was supposedly in decline now however the Lernea house possessed a powerful heir whose might rivaled her beauty it was to the point she rivaled many elders in power putting a step beyond their own younger generation.
Haifa:"It is good to see you again" as she blatantly ignored a young male heir whose best offer before today was to be in his harem as a mistress
Me:"It is good to see you too is there a reason all these men are sniffing around you like dogs in heat?"
young scion naga(ysn) :"Do you have any idea who dare to speak to speak to lizard scum?!" my best guess is this is derogatory comment about having legs instead of a snake tail
Me:"No because no matter who you are you are beneath me so why would I bother as it changes nothing"
ysn:"Security have him dragged out and his legs and arms broken!" he seems mad you mad bro but none of the guards make a move
Haifa:"Bashir who do you think you are that you can command my family's guards as you please in my family's estate no less and to harm the Lernea household's personal guest.
Manoj:"What seems to be all the commotion?"
Bashir:"This ill bred and manerless outsider dared to talk down to me!"
Manoj:"I see it is a misunderstanding well I guess this is a good time as any to clear up such things and announce Haifa's engagement" Bashir begins to look smug as he is part of one the most influential sacred families and a lot of the lesser houses look on with envy "Since this has caught the attention of everyone here I like to announce Haifa of house Lernea engagement to the son of Amin as decided by Lernea herself!" immediately the entire goes deathly silent then all out defiance demanding answers and I'm impressed because they found a way to push blame on their already dead patron
ysn 2:"Why was he chosen!?"
random naga elder (rne):"Think this through and don't make a rash decision we can negotiate a fair deal!"
rne 2:"He doesn't have a well established lineage!"
ysn 3:"He is an outsider!"
Manoj:"I think you are all mistaking something this was decided by his and our patron infact her lineage was enhanced by an emissary of his patron to make her worthy of joining his progeny's house so that Lernea might join in service to his patron as others have"
hearing this all for the first time I don't know who came up with this idea but I gotta say I love it as it covers a lot of the holes as where Lernea went and why they currently follow me even though my purity is apparently poor not only that it makes the serpent I'm associated with even more dangerous than they first thought as a powerful patron serpent such as Lernea would choose to serve instead of independence and worship it also makes them think what could have been offered by such a serpent and what benefits were they missing out on.
Me:"Since were talking about engagements I'm also engaged to princess Savita"
This lead to even more cries of shock and outrage more than a few people wanted to leave so they could go report these things to their patrons but were afraid if they left now that they would miss out on hearing something important for the rest of the evening people were a helluva lot more polite pandering to me in the hopes of gleaning even a little more information to which I was needlessly vague answering questions without providing any answers leaving many frustrated a few were smart enough to just let it go but stayed until I left on the off chance I reveal something.
