So apparently I didn't think things through as I said before naga are all about racial purity with the exception higher level serpents unfortunately for me it's a well known fact that Amin is a pure blood naga meaning my hydra bloodline must have come from my supposed mother who we claimed was dead leaving me the only source to said bloodline.
As it is unknown which hydra I received it from as only hydras approaching royal level and beyond could consider communication instead of eating any non hydra and even then only hydra above regular royal class would breed outside its species and usually to create a servant race not a lineage making me a rare exception as I produced a pure hydra's aura.
The problem with this is now I'm viewed as a decedent of a sacred level hydra as my aura is akin to a royal hydra and an unknown hydra that doesn't possess a shrine (not just Hydras have shrines other high level serpents do as well such as gorgons) meaning there is no connection other than its decedent.
The reason naga desire a connection to higher level serpents is because not only are the resulting decedents are naturally powerful and some even retain their ancestors unique gifts but could even be empowered by their ancestor serpent further raising their power beyond its natural limitations and naturally if serpent is lucky enough or powerful enough they have their own plane from which they rule like gods.
So for Amin to have a child with such a lineage a naga with a well known reputation for sliding his meat in any available hole Male, female and when he was drunk enough anything else it left an unpleasant taste in the mouth of the nobility of the sultanate but even with that knowledge many nobels were still wanted that connection which is why I'm at the party celebrating the new prince but instead of everyone fawning over the upper crust which are usually the center of attention when sultan and his immediate family are not present they have surrounded me and cut off all means of escape making me the only bipedal in the room the center of attention.
Random naga Nobel 1(RNN):"You are lucky young man you barely meet the qualifications to be my daughter's husband" he waved over a fat slug who looked like she was in the middle of sexually harassing a young nobel and didn't bother to hide her disdain for me
Me:"Much appreciated but I have come to extend my family's well wishes for the new prince and don't want to take the spotlight off the event" barely masking my disgust
RNN 2:"What the boy means is that he has his set on another for his first wife like my little sister" she looks two years old!
RNN 3:"She is barely a hatchling!" finally some common sense "he clearly needs a mature mate" he wheeled out a decrepit old woman "she's got unfertilized eggs in stasis" from the cradle to the grave
The only thing that saved me from this relentless onslaught was the sultan and his family entering the ballroom causing all these opportunistic cunts to finally back off as they had to show their sultan the proper respect.
Sultan:"Greetings and thank you all for coming to celebration of the birth of my newborn son please enjoy the party!"
After he finished speaking he makes a beeline toward my location and I just know its going to be a problem as the crowd parts for him.
Me:"Greetings your majesty to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?" I extended a proper greeting bowing and waiting for his acknowledgement before raising my head
Sultan:"No need for such formalities" although he waited until I had done so already "this is just a social event I just wanted to see why everyone is so crowded here" both making an excuse to come over and telling everyone to fuck off causing the crowd to disperse
When everyone is out of the way the sultan guides me to a secluded area.
Sultan:"I never expected Amin to produce an heir worth notice even if by luck of poking the right hole" just stating a fact with an aloof look
Me:"For him it was more of a numbers game than luck"
Sultan:"I am going to be blunt I'm trying to consolidate more higher serpent lineages into my family I can't force the established families so I'm looking towards individuals such as you so tell me are you a loyal member of my sultanate or are you a threat I need to extinguish?" as if from the shadows naga assassin guards appear hinting which answer is the right one
Me:"Of course my loyalty is to you first my sultan" not looking to die again so soon and I think I could benefit from this as well
Sultan:"Good then you can marry one of my daughters from my harem wives not my sultana or my sheikhas I'm more generous than the nobels but don't cross the line you will also have my protection and your family will elevated come to main palace tomorrow to choose your wife after I will announce your engagement" and just like that I'm screwed
