Chapter 14: Chapter 15: Conquering the World ( Part 5)
Alexander simply waited for the events directed by him to take place. The spies had forwarded the news of the meeting to their respective employers. The countries became curious but not overly concerned. Then, the O'Connells forwarded a message through the spy channels they knew describing the events that took place with some changes. The Eye of Shangri-La was decribed as a means to open the tomb of dragon emperor allowing anyone who submits to the dragon emperor a chance to master elements and command his immortal army. This information shocked the higher ups and an emergency meeting was called to discuss the matter and also for the extraction of the O'Connells as they knew the most but the O'Connells, Zi Yuan and Lin were already moved to Australia by Alexander.
Soon, this information was made known to all the allied powers and many eyes locked on China. Plans were being made and preparation for war were also made. The reason was that if the news was truly right then the one who has the control of immortal army, only has to hide in some secure place and he can wage war with anyone and the allure of having supernatural powers was also too great. The information also reached the ears of other countries and they also turned their attention towards China. Nearly every country which was able to send spies to China was preparing to send their best men for the job. Obviously, the Chinese government also came to know about this. Another high level meeting was called to discuss about the means by which they would prevent the foreigners from extending their greedy hands to their heritage. China dispatched 50 more Battalions and ordered construction of an Air Base near the dig site. The advance Battalions were ordered to not to enter the tomb till all the preparations were done. The Chinese declared a region of 50 miles around the dig site as restricted area with orders to shoot at sight. This extreme response of Chinese were on the orders of Alexander, which served as a confirmation to other countries.
Threats and offers were made to the Chinese government for the surrender of the tomb. Alexander ordered Mr. Mao to use death row criminals in order to check if the immortal army really killed the Intruders and if those who submitted really get spared. The Chinese spies on the orders of Alexander made the other governments known that only those who submit to the dragon emperor can claim the inheritance and also the Chinese government's plan to use death row criminals to check the immortal army.
Alexander while attending the Chinese government's meeting as Mr. Lin had ordered the terracotta army to move back to the tomb. While he was subjugating the various news outlets of the allied powers, he had asked Eve to design the tomb of the dragon emperor and. due to her extensive knowledge in this field, she had done an admirable job. Alexander using his power over earth and metalelement had changed the entire structure of the tomb. All these preparations had used up nearly 25 percent of the available King's might but even if the plan fails he would gain thousands of soldiers as his subjects without even trying. The new tomb was an adventurer's nightmare, Eve had installed nearly all kinds of traps she knew to prevent anyone from reaching the interior of the tomb. Alexander had claimed the land on which the tomb was situated and as a King, he had control over who can enter his land.
Alexander knew that after the terracotta army would leave the tomb, various forces would try to enter the interior of the tomb but after claiming the land he could easy deny them entry. It made the traps seem to be unnecessary but what if some sort of mystical item had the capability of hiding someone from his senses then all the plan would fall apart. Aexander had also placed the instrument at the end of the traps which the dragon emperor used to master the elements. Alexander had claimed the instrument as a part of kingdom and came to know that the instrument only awakened the element to which a person was attuned to. Since, the dragon emperor had the faint bloodline of a dragon, he was attuned to all the elements. The instrument required magic to work and the magic required to awaken the elements in the dragon emperor was enormous due to his bloodline so only initial awakening was done. By claiming it as a part of his kingdom, only those who had his permission could use the instrument. So, even if someone managed to sneak in and survive the traps then, he would need his permission to use the instrument.
The construction of the base took 3 days. All the dispatched Battalions came one day before the terracotta army would launch their attack. The criminals were forced to enter the room where the terracotta army was present and were subsequently killed on the orders of Alexander, those who submitted were spared. The spared criminals were made to go past the terracotta army to check forward but they were also killed by traps. The army threw bombs towards the terracotta army but the army simply reformed. The information was forwarded to the higher ups and they were shocked that the information written on walls were true. Now, they were worried about the supposed curse and the invasion of the world by the terracotta army. The other countries also came to know about this and prepared themselves to protect their borders.
Now, even the common people knew that something was happening. On the day, the terracotta army will began it's invasion, Alexander was standing on the top of Mt. Everest waiting for the sunrise. As the sun was rising and giving the snow a beautiful shine, Alexander was enjoying this serenity of nature. Alexander thought, " This day will be the day when a new world will be revealed to the people of this world. Many will die. The people of this world would experience terror, sorrow and anger due to the events happening on this day and the coming days. This day is also important to me, all the small victories that I have achieved and all the plans that I have made would bear their fruit on this day."
As the sun shined on Mt. Everest, Alexander smiled and said in low voice, " Let the invasion begin."
