Chapter 106: Why Us?

"This is why she has been persistent on getting me married as soon as possible," Ilyan murmured, still stuck in the dazed state but still having just enough sanity to connect the dots together. What did not make much sense earlier made perfect sense once everything was out clear and in light in front of him.

His mother's sudden drastic change in behavior had been talk of their home for a long while but none, none had been that invested in finding out why or perhaps, none had thought that the reason could be of so extreme.

"Perhaps," his father sat down beside him, "seems like that!"

"When did you find out?" Ilyan asked in an unwavering tone. Once everything sank in, more than anything, it had left him numb. He still was not sure how much of it he had been able to accept. He was not sure how much of it he was going to be able to accept in the first place.
