"Unwilling to try?" she muttered while taking out a tablet strip from her pouch. 

"I guess." He let her swallow the tablet before he expressed his agreement. "Is the pain lessening or worsening?" Swiftly diverting the attention of the conversation, he centered it around her instead of him.

Her unspoken response was interrupted by her message ringing. She grabbed her phone from her bag. "One minute," she told Ilyan.
