Chapter 27: I will make him fall for me
Emma wasn't up for all these, but she wished to do her best.
She felt scared, but the belief that she could get to be with her family again, coupled with how she was scared about how Olivia would treat them, she had assured herself to do all she could.
The couple could feel that she's changed, but who would want their kids to keep rebelling. If she stayed calm like this, then they would be able to communicate with her like they wished to.
Even though they acted casually in front of Max and his family, they were so scared about how their daughter's mood would take a 360° turn, after they got inside the house, but it didn't happen.
Emma pulled back and looked into the woman's eyes, forced a smile and nodded her head.
She didn't want to act too odd, but couldn't leave them with an uneasy mind either. After assuring them that she's fine, she left the couple that stared at her departing back, till they couldn't see her again.
Immediately she was out of sight, "I have men monitoring him, but they couldn't find anything. I will get to the bottom of this, I promise." President Smith said to Laura, who was already glaring at him.
"You will find a solution after our baby gets hurt? When is all this going to end? I'm scared.
Even though she's acting strong, she's not fine. This isn't fair." Laura said, breaking down in tears.
"I will look into this. I think we should do something regarding Max. I want her to be safe as well, and having him involved would help.
If he managed to keep an eye on her for us, I would be able to go all out. I would do things, without worrying about backlash." President Smith said.
He knew Harry was expecting him to point an accusing finger at him. He was the vice president of the corporation, which Smith gladly gave to him, not knowing the type of person Harry was.
The corporation wasn't an inheritance. It was built from scratch by Smith and Laura.
Harry was just a hardworking boy.
They promoted him accordingly, but he was greedy over the whole corporation. President Smith started preparing Olivia, because he got a glimpse of how Harry has been trying to get the boards on his side.
But no matter what, Olivia still owns everything, because they plan to give all their shares to her.
Harry knew it's risky to let Olivia live.
The girl was a threat. Harry spent his youth as a worker for the company and couldn't let a girl that was born right in front of his eyes to claim it.
How would it feel to work under Olivia. A child at the same age as his own daughter.
There was an option of letting his daughter continue from where he stopped, but not even his daughter should get what belongs to him.
Once Smith is left without a heiress, the vice president will take over. There won't be much hassle, since they are family.
"Laura, wait." Smith walked after his wife, that doesn't seem to care about his excuses.
"Please. I have plans to resolve this whole thing." He added.
Laura stopped in her tracks, and turned to face him. "Yes! You have plans. I am in support of making her bond with Max, but she didn't like him.
We were useless enough to let our daughter stain her hands with blood, take freedom from her and now we should force her onto a man?
Smith. She doesn't like him and that's final. Deal with this and nothing must happen to Olivia. What do you all want from her?
What did they want from my baby?" Laura didn't manage to get inside the room with her husband, before breaking down this time.
She cried out loud, while president Smith couldn't bring up the fact that their daughter asked for Max's number, which wouldn't have happened, if she hates him.
He just held Laura and tried to make her calm.
Those people are crazy.
Even when they managed to take hostages, they wouldn't say anything and even killed themselves before they torture the truth out of their mouth.
They were definitely not ordinary people, which at times, made him wonder if Harry could be capable of all that.
He was a boy he trained.
He was hardworking and he trained him to make his hardworking spirit into good use, which made him who he was today.
He never lacks anything. He has lots of money. He embezzled money from the company and got away with it.
He had the family's privilege.
Could he really be behind this like Smith strongly believes?
A part of him wanted to give the benefit of doubt, because the attacks were so bold. They weren't being sneaky about it at all.

"That bastard escaped again. Hmm." Harry said, in a calm tone.
His men didn't get to give him feedback, but he was currently watching the live news about the attack.
"Daddy, you're making that witch more popular." Alicia stated, seeing how the news about an attempted assassination of the heiress of Smith corporation was being aired again.
It will be taken down before the next day, but those who had seen it, couldn't be forced to forget it.
"This is not the time for your catfight with her. You said you have met that Walker boy when you were abroad right?" Harry asked, not wanting to risk having Max as an enemy.
"Yes." Alicia replied, a blush finding its way to her cheeks, after recalling the tall and most sexiest guy that she had ever laid her eyes on.
Max was just too handsome. "I also met his sister. That sweet little girl." Alicia added, with a sweet smile.
Harry remained unamused at her nonsense. "Good! Get him, before that bastard does." Harry said.
Alicia's eyes brightened up. "You will support me with the pursuit?" She asked, getting up on her feet, and looking into Harry's eyes.
"I will." Harry replied.
"I will make him fall for me." Alicia said with confidence.
