Chapter 23: chapter 23- Marineford
After my fight with Sabo, I went back to the Merry to help strengthen the crew. We didn't have much time before the marines will go after us full force, the only reason they haven't is that they are trying to kill me together with Whitebeard at Marinford. Just the thought of Ace beaten up on the execution stage boiled my blood, and if I see Akainu he won't be leaving the battle alive. While preparing for the execution I bought a small boat, just big enough for two people. I could bearly hold myself together at the thought of freeing Ace from Marineford, but I had to wait. If I did it now the marines will suffer immense losses, sure, but I want to humiliate them enough so that they realize with who they messed with. When I saw Ace was captured in the newspaper I was about to kill half of the marines on this planet as I promised, but then I realized that they would just cover it up. So now I bought a Den Den Mushi to film the battle when the marines inevitably stop filming to use some dirty tactics.
After a week and a half of waiting it was finally the day of the execution, I arrived in front of Marineford about an hour before Ace's execution. I sensed Kaido and Shanks fighting in the distance, Kido will probably figure out Whitebeard won't be coming pretty soon so I need to speed things up so Shanks won't stop me. Shanks is like a father to me, but he is too soft. I warned the marines yet they still captured Ace, they need to understand their place.
*Swish* the boat cut through the waves as I got closer to Marineford. "Who is that?" , "only one kid?", "where is Whitebeard?". The marines couldn't believe that the little kid in front of them was the only one attacking, I couldn't blame them if I was standing guard for what was supposed to be the most intense fight of my life and just one kid showed up then I would be angry too. The difference was, I wasn't some kid. "Luffy run! I know you're strong but even Whitebeard wouldn't dare to try and take on the entire marine forces by himself" Ace tried to make me flee as soon as my feet touched Marineford, "Straw hat, I heard about your battle with Aokiji" Akainu stood up from his seat, "it was a mistake to let you grow so far, if it wasn't for Garp I would have killed you years ago, as I should have. Garp today both your grandsons die, don't try to save them". Akainu jumped from his seat down to a couple of meters towards me.
"You know something?", I asked Akainu, "I am in awe of your confidence, I already kicked the shit out Aokiji so I thought you would be a little more humble when confronting me. Guess I was wrong". I started walking towards Akainu while slowly releasing my conquerors haki, "I gave the marines a warning, play nice and nothing happens, play dirty, and get demolished. want to know which one is the option you chose?". Akainu started to tremble at my haki but his pride wouldn't let him surrender to some pirate, and a kid at that, which is what I was aiming for. "AAAAAHHHHHH" Akainu let out a scream as he commanded his body to punch me. *BAM* before Akainu could even get close with his punch, I already stretched my arm and punched a giant hole in his body.
The whole marine army was silent as Akainu fell to the floor as he slowly looked down to see the giant hole his torso had become, his face turned pale as he tried to shot magma at me. I dodged it with ease and I caught him by his head as I threw him into the ocean, he didn't deserve a grave after what he did to Ace, even after a thousand years I never forgot that scene and I dreamed about getting revenge, he deserved a much slower death but I couldn't resist the satisfaction of killing him the same way he killed Ace. "now then, let's start the real show", I released enough of my conquerors haki to kill every marine below vice admiral that was in Marineford.
But even if my haki didn't kill them it scared all of the vice admirals mentally, they would never be the same again. I jumped to the execution platform as Sengoku finally gave the order to stop filming. The two executioners were killed by my haki so I covered my hand in armament haki and quickly crushed Ace's seastone cuffs. Kizaru attacked me as I was crushing the cuffs, he was probably too scared to attack me head-on knowing him. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't even near the level it would take to avoid my observation haki, I caught his leg with my hand and tightened my grip until it broke.
I then pulled him in as I used my other arm to grab and crush his skull. Sengoku had enough and tried to come after me but I increased my conquerors haki output to a sufficient level so that he couldn't move from fear. "I warned you this would happen, I told you that if you take my family I would kill half of your force. While this isn't half the manpower, I did take out two admirals and all of the marines bellow vice admirals so I'll call it even for now. Remember this for next time Sengoku, you are far from being on top of the food chain, even in the world government there are people far above you such as..." 'why can't I remember? I know it's someone that starts with an "I" but who exactly? must have been too insignificant to remember'. "Never mind, the point is you had the chance to avoid this yet you were blinded by your confidence. I hope you learn for next time" I said as I jumped back to my humble boat where Ace was waiting.
