Chapter 62: The Feeling Of Being In Simple Family
He entered Louis house for the first time and almost immediately felt the comfortable sensation of his old house, the simple and humble feeling of the house itself made him felt the sensation.
With the barrel of beer still at his hand and feeling a little bit exhausted after carrying it all the way from the pub to the house, he dropped the barrel at the floor, while making sure there's nothing in the floor when he placed the barrel.
The sound of the wooden floor being hit by a heavy barrel filled with water alerted the whole house. Someone came out from the room beside him slowly open the simple door covering it.
The one that came out from the room is a 50-year-old woman who turned out to be the significant other of Louis. Once he saw his spouse coming out from that room, he rushed to her and hugged her.
Arden could see the happiness portrayed at Louis face as he caught a glance at the room. He saw a bed and a wardrobe which he quickly concludes that the room is their bedroom.
Arden takes his attention away from the room and just waited for the old couple to finish what they were doing in front of him while looking at other direction while singing at his own head.
"Louis, stop this, there's a guest here" Arden still looking at other direction to avoid eye contact and both of the old couple quickly stop what they were doing.
"Oh yea, sorry, this is my friend here" Arden quickly turned back and face Louis that is pointing at him while introducing him.
"My name is Adrian" He introduced himself with the false name to not raise suspicion to her.
"Nice to meet you, Adrian, you could call me Emma, I'll go cook for dinner now, why don't you join us?" Arden smiled and responded with.
"It would be my pleasure!" Emma turned away and head to what it seems to be, a kitchen.
"I'll organize the utensils for us" Louis quickly turned away and goes to the eating room.
He grabbed the utensils from the cabinet and quickly placed it at the table one by one with some small mistake while placing it correctly.
"Let me help you" Even before Louis could respond, Arden quickly placed the utensils the way the maids placed it for him to eat.
While both of them were placing the utensils and Emma were cooking for dinner. Someone suddenly opened the front door and quickly got inside the house quickly.
Arden heard this and quickly put his hand on his sword, he could hear 4 people walking to the eating room by hearing the walking sound.
Louis looked at him after seeing him putting his hand on the sword and whisper, "Those were likely to be my sons"
Arden quickly sighed and put his hand away from his sword and continue what he was doing. Not 3 seconds after he started continuing placing the utensils at the table, 4 adults showed up at the doorway that has no door and I leading to the eating room.
All of them with their dirty clothes covered in sweat, greeted their father and their father immediately introduced Arden with the false name, "Boys, this is my friend, Adrian"
All of them just looked at Arden before greeting him "Good afternoon mister"
They continued on their way to their own bedroom and cleaned their self from all the dirty stuff they got from the work in the field.
By the time they left Arden and Louis alone at that room is the time where both of the men finished organizing the utensils, it took them long enough to do it since they have no experience whatsoever.
Arden sat down at one of the chairs and placed his hand at his forehead while closing his eye to rest for a bit. Louis didn't do the same as him, instead, Louis goes to the hallway near the entrance to his house and relocate the barrel full of drink to the eating room, in other words, he moved them.
Arden was still resting for a bit and ended up taking a nap for a few minutes. While he was taking a nap, the significant other of Louis finished cooking and moved all the food to the table.
All of the sons finished cleaning their body and head to the eating room while Arden was still asleep. Once he opened his eye, Arden could see the table full of food and the chairs were occupied by humans.
He was shocked but quickly straighten his self and reorganized his manner. One of the sons became agitated at this point.
Arden ignored him as all of them started eating their food. 15 minutes into the foods, almost all tummy were filled and all the sons burped out.
They started bringing the utensils to the kitchen to be washed, and soon, Arden followed. All of them wash their own utensils and so did Arden, he didn't feel comfortable leaving his utensils unwashed even after Emma said not to wash it.
All of them now back at the eating room while some of them talking to each other happily, while Arden just left alone in the middle of all the people talking at the room.
Then, the son that became a little agitated by having their father bringing a guest to their house asked a really uncomfortable question to his father, "Father, who is this kid exactly?"
Louis stared at Arden uncomfortably and nervously, some drop of sweat started coming out of his face as he sees at all of his sons waiting curiously.
He quickly came up with a solution, "Emma, can you leave this place? I need to do something with the kids"
Emma quickly left the room while Louis is staring at her and head to her bedroom, Louis then retracts her attention back to his kids and stared them right in the eyes.
"He is Arden" All of his kid was still curious and confused at the same time.
Until the older looking son started stuttering, "T-That A-Arden?"
All of the other sons quickly became nervous like their oldest brother and quickly talked to each other and started discussing about what they going to do.
"Louis, I don't want to attract any attention" Arden sighed and Louis quickly bowed and apologized.
"Let's not talk about it, I brought beer with me, let's drink it together!" He stated about the beer happily and loudly.
All the sons of Louis quickly became excited after hearing the word "beer" coming out from Arden. He quickly stood up from his seat and opened the barrel of beer form the top.
While he was opening the barrel, Louis and his sons were getting the wooden cups totalling in 7 Cups. The oldest son went to get their mother and came back soon.
All of them enjoyed the drink at that time and drank until the barrel is empty, which is a lot to be finished by only one family.
It's not a myth if all of them woke up sleeping at the table, most of them woke up lying at the floor. Arden woke up to find himself lying on the floor like all the other people.
He and Louis, still drunk from all the beers he drank at the day before, made their way towards the castle. Even when they were drunk, they still remember the works they have at the castle.
They walked down the street with all their effort while Louis's family still at the home and still passed out. Both of them accidentally hit some people on their way and some of them actually tried to help them instead of cussing or even hitting them.
With all the help of people, they successfully got to the castle. The people that helped them dropped them at the lobby in front of Bob which placed both of them at the stairwell on the sitting position and went to grab more help.
Arden, with all his awareness, grabbed his bag of money and took the 1 last Auren he has and gave it to the people that helped them.
They were very grateful and even bow to him and waited for Bob to come back to both drunk men while guarding them at the same time.
Bob came out with several maids and butlers, all of them tried their best to drag Arden and Louis to the second floor of the keep and put them in bed.
Arden was put into his bedroom and Louis at one of the vacant and unoccupied bedroom, the nearest one at the stair to make the work of the servants easier.
The guards, maid, butler, cooks may not enter the lord's bedchamber unless it was necessary. All of them abide this rule to the point there was no exception unless it was the lords that called them.
Arden slept with his wife beside him sighing every time he suddenly said something that came out of his dream or hugs his wife suddenly.
Looks like someone goes to get scolded after he woke up, after all, Arden swore to never drink without his wife permission at the past.
