06: The Gift and First day
While everyone was having a good time drinking and chatting among each other, the kids were in a corner stuffing their stomach with food as this kind of party occurred very rarely in the year other than the harvest season and new year this kind of banquet was hardly seen.
When all the people we're having a nice time Knave was in a corner with some kids trying to look like and behave like any normal kid so as to not attract too much attention, what he was really doing was waiting for an opening.
Right now the elderly we're talking so he could not disrupt them and have his opinion plummet so he was waiting, at situations like this there would be some farewell mementoes ao all he had to do was go at last and end this party with a stunning end.
' Rick you had been working for me for the last 5 decades, so giving you money or items will only put a strain on our relationship so I have written you this reference letter to a blacksmith friend of mine in Smock Town he would take one of your grandson as an apprentice so that he would not have any problems with his future '
'I don't know how to thank you, Master, for your benevolence'
' Is this necessary between us'
' Rick my present may not be as good as Master Robert, but I hope you will like it. It's a potted Ginger Root' the gift was given by Steward Sam, from the looks of it Rick and Sam are good friends I can use that in the future.
Similarly, everybody gave their gifts some good some traditional when I saw the last present was given I finally knew my chance has arrived, after looking around and seeing nobody paying attention I went behind the table on the end of the venue where I had kept my 'gift'.
After coming there I took some of the mud and blew it in the air some of it fell on my clothes and body making it look a little dirty, some of it went in my eyes and made them watery after making my preparations I went towards the old group where Rick was present.
After seeing that Master Robert, Sam, Rick were there together I started my play. Pulling Ricks sleeve it began
'Grandpa' I said in the most pitiful voice possible
'Knave what is it, this kid did you get into a fight?' he could see that Knave was a little dirty and thought he had a fight with the other kids.
'No grandpa I made a present for you'
Everyone was quite surprised as they did not expect a kid would bring a present, Rick was quite happy as well we're everybody else.
' Oh! show me' there was enthusiasm in Old Rick's voice
'Here' after saying that I handed him a garland made of Calla Lily
' I read in the book that this flower represents long life, I hope that you can live a long life' after saying that I let all the tears stored in his eyes flow, making him look a pitiful weak child.
As soon as the old people in the circle looked at the gift as well as heard the meaning of the gift they could not help but become emotional.
Many of them had tears in their eyes, Rick, Master Robert and Sam had gratified looks in their eyes like they had gained a gem.
'Don't worry kiddo, you think your grandpa will kick the bucket soon I still have to watch your wedding, you are almost 10 in half year after that in 6 years you will get married and I will come at that time. That's a promise' Rick said while holding Knave putting significance on his promise.
'Yeah Knave don't worry about him I am still there you will not miss him, if you feel lonely come talk to me' Master Robert said while Sam just nodded his head with everyone.
I just nodded my head softly to look as pitiful as possible to imprint the image of a very weak and emotional kid so that in the future if there are some mistakes I can use my image.
After my gift, the celebration went on for some time all the old people were happy and some were even asking about me, the more they heard that I was a orphan the better my image became.

Early next morning Rick left for his ship, he came to say goodbye to me and mentioned his promise again Master Robert was present as well after saying their pleasantries Rick left in a wooden horse carriage.
"Time for the last nail in the coffin"
'GOODBYE GRANDPA RICK!!!' after shouting with all my might when I saw him go farther away made it look really beautiful to others but to me it was like the end of a boring play.
"So today starts my search, and work"
